The Ayin, the Creaturely Lights, and the Glory-Light of Ruach

A Sod ha Sod Focus Study from RLM TV

“God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.” — 1 John 1:5

There is light, and there is Light.

There is created glory, and there is the uncreated glory of God.

There is illumination that can impress the ayin—the eye, the faculty of seeing—and there is the Light of divine Life proceeding from the Father through Jesus Christ and communicated to the new humanity by Ruach.

This distinction is essential because Scripture does not teach that everything appearing luminous originates from the same kingdom.

Satan himself can appear as an angel of light.

“For Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.”
2 Corinthians 11:14

Therefore, luminosity alone is not proof of divine origin.

Brightness is not necessarily holiness.

Vision is not necessarily revelation.

Glory is not necessarily the glory of Christ.

The question is not merely:

WHAT LIGHT DO I SEE?

The deeper question is:

WHAT IS THE SOURCE OF THE LIGHT?

I. THE FATHER OF LIGHTS

James gives us one of Scripture’s deepest names for God:

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of all [that gives] light.”
James 1:17 AMPC

God is not merely illuminated.

God is Light.

The Father is the Source from whom true divine illumination proceeds.

Hebrews describes the Son as:

“the sole expression of the glory of God [the Light-being, the out-raying or radiance of the divine]”
Hebrews 1:3 AMPC

This is extraordinary language.

Christ is the out-raying of divine glory.

Therefore the highest biblical understanding of Light is not simply photons, visions, intelligence, mystical phenomena, or created splendor.

Light ultimately has a Person.

Jesus said:

“I am the Light of the world.”
John 8:12

The New Jerusalem eventually requires neither sun nor moon because:

“the glory of God illuminates it, and the Lamb is its lamp.”
Revelation 21:23

At the summit of biblical revelation stands not merely a universe containing light.

There stands:

THE FATHER OF LIGHTS → THE SON OF GLORY → THE RUACH OF LIFE → THE NEW CREATION.

II. CREATION ITSELF HAS GLORY

Paul reveals another mystery:

“There are celestial bodies and there are terrestrial bodies; but the beauty and glory of the celestial is of one kind, while the beauty and glory of the terrestrial is a different kind.
The sun is glorious in one way, the moon is glorious in another way, and the stars are glorious in their own [distinctive] way; for one star differs from and surpasses another in its beauty and brilliance.”
1 Corinthians 15:40–41 AMPC

Creation contains orders of glory.

Sun has glory.

Moon has glory.

Stars have glory.

Earthly bodies have glory.

Heavenly bodies have glory.

But created glory must never be confused with the Source of glory.

This becomes crucial in understanding the Fall.

The creature was designed to receive from God.

The creature was never designed to become its own source.

Romans 1 describes fallen humanity exchanging:

THE GLORY OF GOD

for images resembling:

MAN → BIRDS → BEASTS → REPTILES.

“And by them exchanged the glory and majesty and excellence of the immortal God for the likeness of an image of mortal man and birds and beasts and reptiles.”
Romans 1:23 AMPC

This gives us a remarkable mystical pattern.

The problem is not that birds, animals, or reptiles are inherently evil. Genesis calls God’s creation good.

The problem is exchange.

Divine glory is exchanged for creaturely representation.

SOURCE is exchanged for CREATURE.

III. THE AYIN AND THE FALL OF SEEING

Genesis 3 places extraordinary emphasis upon sight:

“And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was delightful to look at…”
Genesis 3:6 AMPC

Before the hand took,

the eye saw.

Before the mouth ate,

the imagination received an image.

The serpent’s temptation entered through a promise concerning perception:

“your eyes will be opened…”
Genesis 3:5

This is the mystery of the ayin.

The Fall was not merely behavioral.

It involved a corrupted way of seeing.

Humanity began interpreting reality independently from God’s Word.

The nefesh became increasingly autonomous.

Instead of receiving divine interpretation from the Source, the creature began generating its own internal world of:

desire, imagination, judgment, fear, lust, comparison, accusation, ambition, fantasy, self-exaltation and self-preservation.

The eye became a gate into an autonomous kingdom.

Jesus therefore gives an astonishing teaching:

“The eye is the lamp of the body.”
Matthew 6:22

The condition of seeing affects the condition of the whole inner world.

IV. THE CREATURELY KINGDOM WITHIN THE FALLEN NEFESH

Here we enter a Sod ha Sod interpretation rather than an explicit biblical statement.

Romans 1 gives the progression:

MAN → BIRDS → BEASTS → REPTILES.

These creatures can be contemplated mystically as images of the creaturely order replacing divine glory inside fallen consciousness.

Not literal biological animals inhabiting human anatomy, but an inward symbolic ecology of the autonomous nefesh.

The fallen soul can become populated by creaturely patterns.

Predatory thoughts.

Serpentine thoughts.

Unclean appetites.

Territorial impulses.

Fear-driven survival.

Dominance.

Pride.

Lust.

Self-preservation.

Accusation.

These become what we might call:

CREATURELY LIGHTS.

They possess a kind of intelligence.

They can generate images.

They can produce emotional energy.

They can even appear impressive, spiritual, powerful, or revelatory.

But they are not necessarily:

RUACH LIFE.

This explains why discernment cannot simply ask:

“Was it supernatural?”

The biblical question is:

WHAT SPIRIT IS ITS SOURCE?

“Beloved, do not put faith in every spirit, but prove (test) the spirits…”
1 John 4:1 AMPC

V. THE SEVEN MOUNTAINS OF THE NEFESH

Obadiah concludes with the prophetic declaration:

“And saviors shall come up on Mount Zion to judge the mountains of Esau, and the kingdom shall be the LORD’S.”
Obadiah 21

In our RLM TV theological framework, we have contemplated the Seven Mountains of Nefesh as the internal architecture of Adamic government.

Here the mystery deepens.

The fallen nefesh does not merely commit isolated sins.

It develops governmental structures.

Habit becomes architecture.

Desire becomes government.

Repeated thought becomes territory.

Judgment becomes a throne.

Fear becomes a mountain.

Pride becomes a mountain.

Lust becomes a mountain.

Self-righteousness becomes a mountain.

The autonomous nefesh becomes an inward civilization.

And its mountains produce their own lights.

This is why human beings can mistake the illumination of the old creation for revelation from God.

Something can feel powerful while still arising from Adamic selfhood.

VI. SATAN AS AN ANGEL OF LIGHT

This brings us directly to Paul’s warning.

Satan does not only operate through obvious darkness.

He can masquerade as:

LIGHT.

This means spiritual maturity requires something deeper than recognizing darkness.

Maturity requires discerning different kinds of light.

The serpent’s ancient strategy was not merely:

“Become evil.”

It was:

“Your eyes will be opened.”

Genesis 3:5.

The temptation was toward an illumination independent of obedient communion with God.

This is the great counterfeit:

LIGHT WITHOUT LIFE.

Knowledge without union.

Vision without holiness.

Power without surrender.

Revelation without Christ.

Glory without the Cross.

Spiritual experience without Ruach government.

VII. THE LAST ADAM INTRODUCES ANOTHER LIGHT

Then comes Jesus Christ.

Paul calls Him:

“a life-giving Spirit.”
1 Corinthians 15:45

The Last Adam does not merely repair the psychology of the first Adam.

He introduces another order of humanity.

Jesus says:

“That which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”
John 3:6

This is not merely improved nefesh.

This is new birth.

RUACH gives birth to ruach.

And now another Light begins shining within the human temple.

Paul writes:

“For God Who said, Let light shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts…”
2 Corinthians 4:6 AMPC

Notice the location:

IN OUR HEARTS.

Creation’s Genesis pattern happens again inside humanity.

LET THERE BE LIGHT.

But this Light is specifically:

“the Light for the illumination of the knowledge of the majesty and glory of God [as it is manifest in the Person and is revealed] in the face of Jesus Christ.”
2 Corinthians 4:6 AMPC

This is not generic mystical illumination.

It has a Face.

JESUS CHRIST.

VIII. FROM CREATURELY LIGHT TO CHRIST-LIGHT

The salvation journey can therefore be understood as a massive inward exchange.

Romans 1 describes fallen humanity exchanging:

DIVINE GLORY → CREATURELY IMAGE.

The Gospel reverses the exchange.

Through Christ:

CREATURELY GOVERNMENT → DIVINE GLORY.

The old inward images lose their throne.

The mountains of Esau are judged.

The autonomous nefesh loses governmental supremacy.

The hidden person of the heart grows.

The Ruach creature matures.

Christ becomes increasingly formed within.

“Until Christ is completely and permanently formed (molded) within you.”
Galatians 4:19 AMPC

This is sanctification understood as the displacement of one inward kingdom by another.

IX. THE FATHER PRUNES THE LIGHTS

Jesus reveals the Father’s activity in John 15:

“Every branch that continues to bear fruit, He repeatedly prunes, so that it will bear more fruit.”
John 15:2 AMPC

Pruning is therefore not divine rejection.

Pruning is divine cultivation.

The Father removes whatever obstructs the fullness of Christ’s Life.

At the Sod level, we may understand this pruning as extending even into our ways of seeing.

The Father prunes:

false illumination,

false identity,

false imagination,

false judgments,

false spiritual ambition,

false glory,

false self-knowledge,

and every inward structure dependent upon Adamic autonomy.

Why?

Because the Father desires:

PURE FRUIT FROM A PURE SOURCE.

X. HOLINESS IS THE PURIFICATION OF LIGHT

Holiness is much deeper than outward behavioral restraint.

Holiness is separation unto the divine Source.

The more completely a person belongs to God, the less mixture governs the inner world.

The ayin becomes increasingly singular.

Jesus said:

“If your eye is sound, your entire body will be full of light.”
Matthew 6:22 AMPC

This opens an enormous mystery.

The purified eye produces a body FULL OF LIGHT.

Not merely seeing light.

FULL OF LIGHT.

Therefore sanctification concerns the purification of perception itself.

What do I behold?

What do I desire?

What interprets reality for me?

What kingdom supplies my imagination?

What light illuminates my inner world?

XI. BEHOLDING PRODUCES TRANSFORMATION

Paul reveals the mechanism:

“And all of us… continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory…”
2 Corinthians 3:18 AMPC

Notice:

SEEING → TRANSFORMATION.

What the ayin beholds affects what the person becomes.

The first Adam looked outward toward the Tree and received another government.

The New Humanity beholds the Lord and is transformed into His image.

This produces an extraordinary reversal:

XII. THE TRUE TREE PRODUCES TRUE FRUIT

Jesus gives us the simplest test:

“You will fully recognize them by their fruits.”
Matthew 7:20 AMPC

This protects us from becoming fascinated with mystical phenomena merely because they appear luminous.

Ask what the light produces.

Does it produce:

love?

joy?

peace?

patience?

kindness?

goodness?

faithfulness?

gentleness?

self-control?

Does it exalt Jesus Christ?

Does it increase holiness?

Does it produce humility?

Does it make the person more loving?

Does it submit the nefesh to Ruach?

Because:

THE QUALITY OF THE FRUIT REVEALS THE QUALITY OF THE ROOT.

XIII. THE FINAL MYSTERY — THE WHOLE BODY FULL OF LIGHT

Jesus gives us perhaps the culminating statement:

“If then your entire body is illuminated, having no part dark, it will be wholly bright [with light]…”
Luke 11:36 AMPC

This gives us a magnificent picture of mature sanctification.

The goal is not merely that we occasionally experience divine Light.

The goal is:

THE WHOLE HOUSE FILLED WITH LIGHT.

The Father of Lights supplies Christ.

Christ supplies Ruach.

Ruach fills the human ruach.

The inner person grows.

The nefesh is renewed.

The ayin is purified.

The mountains of autonomous Adamic government fall.

The creaturely images lose their authority.

The body becomes increasingly surrendered to the government of Ruach.

Until the whole temple becomes luminous with the Life of Jesus Christ.

↓

↓

↓
Life

This is the mystery:

The answer to false light is not darkness.

It is GREATER LIGHT FROM THE TRUE SOURCE.

We do not overcome Adam merely by staring endlessly at Adam.

We behold Jesus Christ.

We receive Ruach.

We grow the hidden person.

We allow the Father to prune every foreign source.

We surrender every mountain.

We test every spirit.

We judge every light by its source and fruit.

And as the Light of the Last Adam increases within the temple, the creaturely governments of the first Adam progressively lose their territory.

“Arise [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you—rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!”

Isaiah 60:1 AMPC

The destiny of the New Humanity is not merely to see Light.

It is to become a people completely surrendered to the One who declared:

“I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD.”

And through union with Him:

“YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD.”

The Father of Lights.

The Son of Glory.

The Ruach of Life.

The purified ayin.

The transformed nefesh.

The glorified temple.

Until the whole body is FULL OF LIGHT.
