MISSION THESIS
The Gospel does not merely repair the humanity of the First Adam. In the Last Adam, God unveils the source, pattern, and life of a New Humanity.
The First Adam becomes נֶפֶשׁ חַיָּה — nephesh chayyah — a living being.
The Last Adam becomes πνεῦμα ζῳοποιοῦν — pneuma zōopoioun — life-giving Spirit.
Redemption therefore moves humanity from Adamic self-source into participation in the life of Christ by the Spirit. The Nefesh is not annihilated; it is brought under the government, supply, image, and life of the Ruach.
This is the sod ha-sod — the secret of the secret — of the Cross: the termination of autonomous human source and the inauguration of a humanity whose very consciousness is supplied from the resurrected Christ.
This briefing takes the revelation already emerging across the week’s five teachings and follows it into the depths. Those teachings repeatedly arrived at the same conclusion: the goal is not the destruction of the soul, but its transformation under the Spirit’s government. The Nefesh receives from the Ruach until the hidden Christ becomes visible.
What follows is not information. It is intelligence for the formation of a New Humanity.
I. OPENING INTELLIGENCE — THIS IS BIGGER THAN SOUL VS. SPIRIT
We have touched the surface.
Now we go beneath it.
There is a single golden line running from Genesis to Revelation, and it is the line of breath, government, image, and life:
BREATH.
ADAM.
SOUL.
SPIRIT.
DEATH.
LIFE.
CROSS.
RESURRECTION.
RIVER.
NEW CREATION.
And standing in the absolute center of this entire mystery are two Adams.
Paul does not merely contrast two religious systems. He contrasts two heads of humanity — two sources of consciousness — two governments of the interior life — two destinies for the human person.
THE FIRST MAN.
THE LAST ADAM.
One humanity is derived from Adam.
Another humanity is constituted in Christ.
Romans 5 gives us two representative heads.
1 Corinthians 15 gives us two modes of humanity.
Romans 8 gives us two governments.
Galatians 5 gives us two contrary operations.
2 Corinthians 3 gives us the mechanism of transformation.
Hebrews 4:12 gives us the Sword that exposes the interior distinction.
John 7 gives us the River supplying the transformation.
And Revelation 22 gives us the final picture:
THE THRONE.
THE LAMB.
THE RIVER.
THE TREE.
THE SERVANTS.
THE FACE.
THE NAME.
THE LIGHT.
THE LIFE.
This is redemption viewed not merely as the forgiveness of sins — though it includes that — but as the emergence of an entirely Christ-centered humanity. A humanity whose consciousness no longer draws from the dust of self-source but from the life-giving Spirit of the risen Lord.
The sod of the Two Adams is this: God did not send a better version of the first man. He sent a new Head, a new Source, a new Government, and a new Life.
II. THE FIRST ADAM — נֶפֶשׁ חַיָּה
Genesis 2:7 establishes the vocabulary of the entire operation.
God forms Adam from the dust of the ground.
God breathes into his nostrils the breath of life — nishmat chayyim.
And Adam becomes:
נֶפֶשׁ חַיָּה — NEFESH CHAYYAH
A living being / living soul.
This is crucial. Adam does not merely possess a Nefesh in the verse. He becomes a nephesh chayyah.
Paul deliberately returns to this exact creation text in 1 Corinthians 15:45. He is interpreting Genesis christologically. The apostolic reading of Moses is not allegory; it is revelation of the Two Adams.
Our previous study correctly identified this as the controlling text for the whole week’s revelation. But we need an important distinction for this deeper briefing:
NEFESH ITSELF IS NOT EVIL.
Genesis 2:7 occurs before the Fall. Therefore, biblically, nefesh cannot simply mean “evil nature.” Nefesh can describe the living person, life, appetite, desire, self, creaturely existence, or soul-life depending upon context. It is the seat of emotion, will, desire, memory, and personal consciousness.
The catastrophe comes when human creaturely life becomes alienated from God’s life and governed from below rather than supplied from above.
That distinction actually strengthens the revelation.
The problem is not:
GOD CREATED A BAD NEFESH.
The problem is:
THE CREATED HUMAN LIFE FELL FROM DIVINE GOVERNMENT.
The vessel remained.
Its government changed.
Its gaze changed.
Its desires became disordered.
Its consciousness became darkened.
Its life became mortal.
And the image-bearer became subject to corruption.
The sod here is that the Nefesh was always designed to be a receiver, not a source. When it became a source unto itself, death entered.
III. THE FALL WAS A REVOLUTION OF GOVERNMENT
Genesis 3 can therefore be read as more than the breaking of a rule.
It is a revolution in human consciousness.
Before eating, the serpent first redirects attention.
The woman:
sees.
Then evaluates.
Then desires.
Then takes.
Then eats.
Then gives.
Then the eyes open into another kind of consciousness.
The sequence matters with surgical precision:
GAZE → INTERPRETATION → DESIRE → PARTICIPATION → IMAGE
This connects directly with The Image War. What governs the gaze begins influencing formation. The soul continually beholding accusation, fear, mortality, self, scarcity, and earthly appearance becomes occupied by those images.
Our earlier briefing described this as two mirrors before the soul: one continually presenting failure, fear, accusation and mortality; the other presenting Christ, grace, finished work and glory.
The Fall therefore creates humanity increasingly living:
OUTSIDE → IN
Natural sight dominates.
Circumstance dominates.
Appetite dominates.
Fear dominates.
Self-preservation dominates.
External appearances dominate.
The Nefesh becomes the place where competing images demand government. The soul that was meant to receive from the breath of God now receives from the dust, from the serpent’s interpretation, from the knowledge of good and evil as an autonomous project.
This is the birth of the self-source.
This is the origin of the psychikos man.
This is the revolution that must be reversed by a greater Revolution — the Cross and Resurrection of the Last Adam.
IV. PAUL’S GREAT TWO-ADAM REVELATION
Now we reach 1 Corinthians 15.
Paul writes in the context of resurrection:
The body is sown corruptible. Raised incorruptible.
Sown in dishonor. Raised in glory.
Sown in weakness. Raised in power.
Then Paul introduces another extraordinary pair:
σῶμα ψυχικόν — SŌMA PSYCHIKON
and
σῶμα πνευματικόν — SŌMA PNEUMATIKON
Commonly rendered: natural body and spiritual body.
But notice the roots:
PSYCHIKOS ← PSYCHĒ
PNEUMATIKOS ← PNEUMA
Paul then immediately quotes Genesis:
“The first man Adam became a living being; the Last Adam became a life-giving Spirit.”
Greek:
ὁ πρῶτος ἄνθρωπος Ἀδὰμ εἰς ψυχὴν ζῶσαν
ὁ ἔσχατος Ἀδὰμ εἰς πνεῦμα ζῳοποιοῦν
Psychēn zōsan — living being/soul.
Pneuma zōopoioun — life-giving Spirit.
This is enormous. Paul intentionally moves from:
PSYCHIKOS → PNEUMATIKOS
and grounds that movement in:
FIRST ADAM → LAST ADAM.
Your OJB-centered study renders the contrast through Jewish terminology as nephesh chayah and ruach mechayyeh, bringing the Adamic contrast into especially vivid Hebrew categories.
The first Adam receives life.
The Last Adam imparts life.
One is a living soul.
The other is a life-giving Spirit.
The difference is not merely quantitative. It is ontological. One is the end of a line. The other is the beginning of a new creation.
V. RUACH MECHAYYEH — THE REVIVING SPIRIT
Here we encounter one of the richest concepts in the entire briefing.
רוּחַ — RUACH
can carry the semantic field of:
wind
breath
spirit
And the OJB’s:
RUACH MECHAYYEH
communicates:
life-giving / life-imparting / reviving Spirit.
This is more than possessing life.
It is communicating life.
First Adam receives creaturely life.
The risen Christ becomes the One who imparts resurrection life.
That is the distinction.
And suddenly Jesus’ words become luminous:
“It is the Spirit Who gives life.” — John 6:63
And Paul:
“The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus…” — Romans 8:2
And:
“He Who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also restore to life your mortal bodies through His Spirit Who dwells in you.” — Romans 8:11
The New Humanity is not merely a forgiven version of Adam.
It participates in the life-imparting Spirit of the resurrected Christ.
Our sermon material expressed this as the “revival Ruach”: rather than trying to repair the Nefesh from within itself, the believer drinks from Christ and receives life that transforms the soul.
The sod is this: the Ruach Mechayyeh is not an impersonal force. It is the very life of the crucified and risen Messiah now poured out. The Spirit is the delivery system of the Last Adam’s own life into the interior of the believer.
VI. THE CRUCIFORM DIVIDE
Now Hebrews 4:12 becomes explosive.
The OJB wording we studied gives us:
DVAR HASHEM — Word of the Lord.
CHAI — living.
CHAZAK — strong.
CHEREV — sword.
NEFESH — soul/living self.
RUACH — spirit/breath.
MACHSHAVOT — thoughts.
KAVANAT HALEV — directed intention of the heart.
Our Hebrew-word study summarized these terms around precisely this interior action of the living Word.
Hebrews does not merely say that Scripture gives us information.
The Word penetrates.
The Word divides.
The Word discerns.
The Word judges the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
THE SWORD DOES NOT MERELY CUT BEHAVIOR.
IT EXPOSES SOURCE.
Where did this thought originate?
Where did this desire originate?
Where did this fear originate?
Where did this religious compulsion originate?
Where did this image originate?
Where did this reaction originate?
Is this merely natural consciousness?
Or is this proceeding from communion with God’s Spirit?
That makes Hebrews 4:12 a New Covenant interior diagnostic of the highest order.
The sod ha-sod of the Sword is that it does not destroy the Nefesh. It separates the Nefesh from its false source so that it can be restored to its true Source.
VII. THE SWORD IS CRUCIFORM
And now we enter the cruciform mystery.
The Word divides.
The Cross divides.
Christ’s death establishes the judgment of the old humanity.
Christ’s resurrection inaugurates the New Humanity.
Paul says:
“I have been crucified with Christ.”
Then:
“It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.”
That is Galatians 2:20.
Notice the movement:
I → CHRIST IN ME
Not merely:
bad behavior → good behavior.
This is a transfer of existential center.
The Cross says:
THE OLD SOURCE CANNOT PRODUCE THE NEW CREATION.
Resurrection says:
CHRIST HIMSELF BECOMES YOUR LIFE.
Colossians 3:3–4:
Your life is hidden with Christ in God.
CHRIST IS OUR LIFE.
This is Cruciform Christianity.
The Cross terminates confidence in Adamic self-source.
Resurrection opens participation in Christic life.
The Sword of Hebrews 4:12 and the Cross of Galatians 2:20 are one reality: the exposure and termination of the old government so that the new government may fully rule.
VIII. THIS REFRAMES REPENTANCE
The Greek metanoia fundamentally involves a change of mind, understanding, orientation.
But within this Two-Adam framework, repentance becomes even more vivid.
It is not merely:
“I behaved badly and now I will behave better.”
It becomes:
I WAS DRAWING FROM THE WRONG SOURCE.
Therefore:
NEFESH → RUACH
means, in the theological vocabulary this series has developed:
self-source → Christ-source
natural sight → spiritual perception
self-effort → grace supply
accusation → beholding Christ
fear → communion
striving → receiving
old humanity → New Humanity
death → life
The finished weekly study captured exactly this progression: repentance becomes turning from what is discovered in the Nefesh toward Christ — receiving, drinking and beholding — and therefore moving from First Adam toward Last Adam, from self-supply toward Christ’s supply, and from death toward life.
REPENTANCE IS NOT STARING AT DARKNESS.
REPENTANCE TURNS THE FACE TOWARD LIFE.
Romans 2:4:
The goodness of God leads to repentance.
Why?
Because goodness gives consciousness a better object.
Grace gives the soul somewhere to turn.
The sod of repentance is not self-loathing. It is the Spirit-enabled turning of the gaze from the false image to the true Image.
IX. WHY SELF-IMPROVEMENT FAILS
Here is one of the strongest practical consequences.
If the problem is Adamic source, then endless Adamic self-repair cannot produce resurrection life.
You cannot generate Pneuma through intensified Psychē.
You cannot manufacture resurrection by improving mortality.
You cannot produce the fruit of the Spirit merely through external pressure.
This is why Paul contrasts:
works of flesh
with:
fruit of Spirit.
Notice the vocabulary.
Works are produced.
Fruit is grown.
The branch does not manufacture grapes through determination.
The branch abides.
The Vine supplies.
The branch bears.
John 15 becomes part of the Two-Adam revelation.
CHRIST — SOURCE.
SPIRIT — SUPPLY.
NEFESH — RECEIVER.
LIFE — FRUIT.
This is why the week’s revelation repeatedly said:
STOP TRYING TO FIX THE NEFESH WITH THE NEFESH.
TRY HARDER → NO.
DRINK DEEPER.
That exact movement — away from spiritualized self-improvement and toward receiving from the indwelling Spirit — runs through the source material.
The sod is devastating to religious pride: the Nefesh cannot regenerate itself. Only the Ruach Mechayyeh can.
X. RUACH CHANNON — GRACE IS THE SUPPLY OF THE NEW HUMANITY
Now the Cross and Grace come together.
Zechariah 12:10:
Spirit of Grace.
Hebrews 10:29:
Spirit of Grace.
Our Ruach Channon sermon noticed something important:
Both texts associate the Spirit of Grace with the Messiah’s pierced body/blood and covenantal work.
That gives us a profound cruciform equation:
THE CROSS OPENS THE SUPPLY OF GRACE.
Grace is not merely God overlooking failure.
Grace brings humanity into participation with what humanity could never produce independently.
The old source says:
PRODUCE.
Grace says:
RECEIVE.
The old source says:
BECOME THROUGH YOURSELF.
Christ says:
ABIDE IN ME.
The old source says:
FIX YOUR NEFESH.
The Spirit says:
DRINK.
This is why Hebrews 4 does something magnificent.
Immediately after the Sword divides, Hebrews moves toward:
THE THRONE OF GRACE.
The Sword exposes.
The High Priest sympathizes.
The Throne supplies.
DIVISION → DISCERNMENT → PRIESTHOOD → GRACE.
The purpose of divine discernment is not condemnation.
It is to expose the false source and bring us boldly to the true Source.
The sod ha-sod of Grace is that the same Spirit who convicted us of our self-source is the Spirit who now supplies the life of the Source we could never reach.
XI. THE RIVER IS THE DELIVERY SYSTEM
Jesus says in John 4 that the water He gives becomes a spring within.
Jesus says in John 7:
COME TO ME.
DRINK.
BELIEVE.
Then:
RIVERS OF LIVING WATER WILL FLOW FROM WITHIN.
John explicitly tells us:
He spoke of the Spirit.
This is the New Humanity’s internal water system.
Christ does not merely stand externally as an example.
Christ gives His Spirit.
The Spirit indwells.
The Spirit supplies.
The Spirit flows.
The Nefesh drinks.
The Nefesh changes.
The transformed Nefesh manifests Christ.
This was one of the central conclusions of the Hiddenness material:
RUACH → NEFESH → TRANSFORMATION → MANIFESTATION.
So the River is not decorative Christian imagery.
THE RIVER IS THE ECONOMY OF DIVINE SUPPLY.
From the Throne, through the Lamb, by the Spirit, into the human spirit, through the renewed soul, out into the body and the world.
The River is the continuous, unceasing delivery of the life of the Last Adam into the interior of the believer.
XII. THE HIDDEN PERSON IS THE COMMAND CENTER
1 Peter 3:4 speaks about:
ὁ κρυπτὸς τῆς καρδίας ἄνθρωπος
THE HIDDEN PERSON OF THE HEART
The New Covenant repeatedly directs attention inward:
Christ in you.
Spirit dwelling in you.
Inner person strengthened.
Heart enlightened.
River flowing from within.
Kingdom among/within.
Life hidden with Christ.
This does not mean narcissistic introspection.
Quite the opposite.
The hidden person is discovered by turning away from autonomous self-consciousness toward communion with Christ.
The week’s Hiddenness teaching summarized it beautifully:
The Kingdom within.
The River within.
The Spirit within.
Then:
DISCOVER THE RUACH.
DEVELOP THE RUACH.
DRINK THROUGH THE RUACH.
LET THE NEFESH RECEIVE FROM THE RUACH.
LET CHRIST BECOME VISIBLE THROUGH THE NEFESH.
This is inside-out Christianity.
The sod is that the true command center of the New Humanity is not the willpower of the Nefesh, but the hidden communion of the Ruach with the Spirit of Christ.
XIII. THE NEFESH IS NOT DESTROYED — IT BECOMES A SERVANT
This distinction must remain absolutely clear.
The redemption plan is not:
SPIRIT GOOD / SOUL BAD.
That would contradict creation itself.
The deeper pattern is:
FALLEN ORDER
NEFESH RULES → SPIRITUAL PERCEPTION DIMMED → FLESH DOMINATES → DEATH REIGNS
versus:
NEW COVENANT ORDER
CHRIST → HOLY SPIRIT → HUMAN RUACH → RENEWED NEFESH → BODY → CREATION
The Nefesh has an extraordinary destiny.
Its imagination can behold Christ.
Its mind can be renewed.
Its emotions can become saturated with divine affection.
Its will can become aligned with divine desire.
Its consciousness can become illuminated.
Its face can reflect glory.
The Nefesh that once transmitted fallen Adamic patterns becomes an interface for Christ’s manifestation.
So redemption does not throw the soul away.
REDEMPTION RESTORES THE SOUL TO ITS PROPER GOVERNMENT.
Psalm 23:
He restores my soul.
Romans 12:
Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
2 Corinthians 3:
Beholding → transformation → image → glory.
The soul becomes a servant of the Spirit.
This is the glory of the New Humanity: not the erasure of personality, but the full flowering of personality under the government of the Ruach.
XIV. BEASTIAL WISDOM VS. WISDOM FROM ABOVE
Now we can approach the “beastial mind” language with biblical precision.
James 3:15 describes a wisdom that is:
earthly
psychikē
demonic
The Greek psychikē is related to psychē.
Jude 19 similarly speaks of people described as psychikoi, not having the Spirit.
And 1 Corinthians 2:14 describes the psychikos anthrōpos — the natural/soulish person — as not receiving the things of God’s Spirit.
That gives us a striking apostolic pattern:
PSYCHIKOS WITHOUT PNEUMA
cannot receive spiritual things.
But:
PNEUMATIKOS
discerns by the Spirit.
This is much stronger than merely calling intelligence “bad.”
Scripture’s issue is not intelligence.
It is intelligence severed from divine Spirit.
The redeemed mind is not stupid.
It becomes extraordinarily illuminated.
Paul prays for:
the eyes of the heart to be enlightened.
The Spirit does not abolish intelligence.
THE SPIRIT GLORIFIES INTELLIGENCE.
The sod is that the same mind that once reasoned from the dust can now reason from the Throne.
XV. THE CARNAL MIND IS DEATH — THE SPIRIT IS LIFE
Romans 8 now becomes unavoidable.
Paul gives us the governing contrast:
mind set on flesh → death
mind set on Spirit → life and peace
Then:
Those led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
This is government language.
What leads you?
What supplies you?
What interprets reality?
What governs consciousness?
What determines reaction?
What gives identity?
What speaks first?
The New Humanity is recognizable because:
THE SONS OF GOD ARE LED BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD.
Not because they possess no soul.
But because the soul has ceased being autonomous ruler.
The mind set on the Spirit is not a mind emptied of thought. It is a mind continually receiving from the Ruach, continually interpreting reality through the lens of the finished work, continually yielding to the government of the indwelling Christ.
XVI. TWO HUMANITIES — TWO IMAGES
1 Corinthians 15 continues:
The first man is from earth, earthy.
The Second Man is from heaven.
Then Paul says:
As we bore the image of the earthly —
we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
Now the entire Image War snaps into focus.
TWO ADAMS PRODUCE TWO IMAGES.
First Adam:
earthly image.
Last Adam:
heavenly image.
The Gospel therefore concerns image transfer.
Romans 8:29:
conformed to the image of His Son.
2 Corinthians 3:18:
transformed into the same image from glory to glory.
Colossians 3:
the New Man is renewed according to the image of his Creator.
The question is no longer merely:
“Am I forgiven?”
It becomes:
“WHICH ADAM IS BECOMING VISIBLE?”
The sod of image is that we become what we behold. The soul that continually gazes upon the glory of the Lord is being transformed into that same image by the Spirit.
XVII. BEHOLDING IS THE TECHNOLOGY OF IMAGE TRANSFORMATION
How does this happen?
Paul says:
BEHOLDING.
Not obsessing over the old image.
Not staring at accusation.
Not endless introspection.
Not measuring Adam all day.
BEHOLD THE LORD.
The soul beholds Christ.
The Spirit transforms the beholder.
The image changes.
Glory increases.
Our Image War study reached exactly this conclusion: grace gives the soul a new Image to behold rather than commanding the old image to improve itself.
This gives us another sequence:
RUACH → REVELATION → BEHOLDING → NEFESH → IMAGE → MANIFESTATION
The invisible Christ becomes visible through transformed humanity.
Beholding is not passive. It is the active, Spirit-enabled turning of the entire consciousness toward the Face of the Son. It is the technology of glory.
XVIII. THE CROSS DESTROYS BOASTING
This is why the whole system must be cruciform.
If Nefesh could perfect itself —
Adam could boast.
If religious performance could manufacture Christlikeness —
Adam could boast.
If intellectual knowledge alone could produce resurrection —
Adam could boast.
If law could give life —
Christ died needlessly.
But Paul says:
Where is boasting? Excluded.
Grace destroys the mythology of autonomous human supply.
The Cross says:
YOU CANNOT SAVE YOURSELF.
Resurrection says:
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO.
Christ has become our life.
The Spirit supplies.
Grace reigns.
Faith receives.
The sod of the Cross is the permanent exclusion of all human boasting in the realm of life. The New Humanity lives by the life of Another.
XIX. THE NEW HUMANITY IS NOT SOULLESS — IT IS SPIRIT-GOVERNED
This may be one of the most important statements in the entire briefing:
THE NEW HUMANITY IS NOT SOULLESS.
THE NEW HUMANITY IS SPIRIT-GOVERNED.
Jesus had emotion.
Jesus had thought.
Jesus had desire.
Jesus had personality.
Jesus wept.
Jesus rejoiced.
Jesus loved.
Jesus chose.
But everything operated in perfect communion with His Father.
Therefore maturity is not emotional numbness.
It is not loss of personality.
It is not anti-intellectualism.
It is not dissociation from humanity.
It is:
THE WHOLE HUMAN PERSON BROUGHT INTO UNION WITH DIVINE LIFE.
Spirit.
Soul.
Body.
All under Christ.
The glory of the New Humanity is the full expression of redeemed humanity under the government of the Ruach.
XX. THE RESURRECTION BODY COMPLETES THE REDEMPTION
And Paul refuses to let this become merely inward spirituality.
1 Corinthians 15 is about bodily resurrection.
The final victory is not escaping embodiment.
It is embodiment conquered by resurrection life.
Corruption → incorruption.
Dishonor → glory.
Weakness → power.
Mortality → immortality.
Death → victory.
This is why the Ruach-centered revelation cannot terminate in private mystical experience.
The Spirit’s life moves outward.
RUACH → NEFESH → BODY → CREATION.
Romans 8 says creation itself waits for the liberty of God’s children.
Our Ruach Channon teaching likewise connected the trajectory of grace and glory with corruption becoming incorruption, weakness becoming power, mortality becoming immortality, and death swallowed in victory.

XXI. FROM INTERNAL RIVER TO GLOBAL OUTPOURING
Joel 2:
I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me.

This is that.

Rivers from within.
Revelation 22:
River from the Throne.
The pattern expands:
THRONE → CHRIST → SPIRIT → HUMAN SPIRIT → SOUL → BODY → WORLD
The River does not terminate in us.
It passes through us.
This week’s revelation described it simply:
THE RIVER WITHIN BECOMES THE FLOOD WITHOUT.
This is revival in its deepest form.
Not merely meetings.
Not merely manifestations.
Not merely emotional intensity.
A NEW HUMANITY BECOMING AN OUTLET OF DIVINE LIFE.
The sod of revival is not that God comes upon us from the outside. It is that the River already within us breaks its banks and floods the earth.

This revelation becomes useful every day.
When something rises within consciousness, do not merely ask:
“Is this religious?”
Ask:
WHAT IS ITS SOURCE?
Does it produce:
fear?
accusation?
self-exaltation?
striving?
condemnation?
envy?
confusion?
death?
Or:
love?
joy?
peace?
patience?
kindness?
goodness?
faithfulness?
gentleness?
self-control?
Christ-consciousness?
grace?
life?
peace?
Then bring everything beneath the Sword.
DVAR HASHEM.
CHAI.
CHAZAK.
CHEREV.
Let the living Word expose the source.
And when Adam is exposed —
do not spend six hours studying Adam.
TURN TO CHRIST.
Drink.
Receive.
Behold.
Abide.
Worship.
Give thanks.
Pray in the Spirit.
Receive Grace.
Let Christ fill the Nefesh.
That is why our week’s final formulation remains so useful:
Repentance is Nefesh → Ruach.
Growth is Nefesh receiving from Ruach.
The Word divides Nefesh from Ruach.
The River flows through Ruach.
Christ transforms the Nefesh through Ruach.
This is the daily operational doctrine of the New Humanity.
XXIV. THE SUNDAY INTELLIGENCE REVELATION
We can now say it more completely:
FIRST ADAM — NEFESH CHAYYAH
Creaturely humanity receiving life.
FALLEN ADAM
Creaturely consciousness alienated from divine government and subject to flesh, corruption and death.
LAST ADAM — LIFE-GIVING SPIRIT
Resurrected Christ communicating divine life.
THE CROSS
The termination of Adamic boasting and autonomous self-source.
THE SPIRIT OF GRACE
The supernatural supply of Christ’s finished work.
THE HUMAN RUACH
The interior place of communion and reception.
THE NEFESH
The soul brought under renewal and transformation.
THE SWORD
The living Word discerning source.
THE RIVER
The continuous supply of divine life.
BEHOLDING
The turning of consciousness toward Christ.
TRANSFORMATION
The Nefesh increasingly bearing His image.
GLORIFICATION
Divine life conquering corruption throughout the whole person.
NEW HUMANITY
Christ becoming visible through a Spirit-governed people.
This is the full arc of the operation.
XXV. FINAL INTELLIGENCE
This is why the distinction between the Two Adams is so much larger than one interesting Hebrew word study.
It reaches into the entire redemption story.
God’s answer to fallen Adam is not merely better Adam.
GOD’S ANSWER IS CHRIST.
The answer to Nefesh-centered self-supply is not stronger self-supply.
THE ANSWER IS RUACH.
The answer to striving is not more striving.
THE ANSWER IS GRACE.
The answer to accusation is not staring harder at the accused self.
THE ANSWER IS BEHOLDING CHRIST.
The answer to death is not learning to coexist with death.
THE ANSWER IS RESURRECTION LIFE.
The answer to the fallen image is not cosmetic improvement.
THE ANSWER IS THE IMAGE OF THE SON.
And therefore the New Covenant movement is:
FIRST ADAM → LAST ADAM
SELF-SOURCE → CHRIST-SOURCE
PSYCHIKOS → PNEUMATIKOS
NEFESH-GOVERNED → RUACH-GOVERNED
OUTSIDE-IN → INSIDE-OUT
STRIVING → RECEIVING
ACCUSATION → BEHOLDING
DEATH → LIFE
IMAGE OF EARTH → IMAGE OF HEAVEN
GRACE → CHRIST WITHIN → GLORY
And then the final movement:
RUACH → NEFESH → BODY → CREATION
The River begins hidden.
The soul drinks.
The image changes.
The body becomes an instrument of righteousness.
The sons of God manifest.
Creation encounters liberty.
And ultimately:
DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP IN VICTORY.

THE FIRST ADAM BECAME A LIVING NEFESH.

THE RIVER OVERFLOWS.
THE NEW HUMANITY APPEARS.
CHRIST WITHIN.
FROM GLORY TO GLORY.
UNTIL LIFE SWALLOWS DEATH.
