OPERATION GRACE TO GLORY
RLM TV SPECIAL FORCES INTELLIGENCE BRIEFING 2
THE SUPPLY-LINE WAR
Why Hell Wants the Believer Living From Himself
Pairs with Chapter II — Grace Upon Grace
Mission Classification: Divine Supply
Operational Theater: The Vine, the Throne, and the Believer’s Daily Dependence
Primary Scriptures: John 15:1–5; John 1:16; Romans 5:17–21; 2 Corinthians 12:7–10; Hebrews 4:14–16; 1 Corinthians 15:10
Mission Theme:
HEAVEN’S SUPPLY LINE MUST REMAIN OPEN.
Intel Phrase:
THE STRONGEST SOLDIER IN THE KINGDOM
IS THE ONE WHO KNOWS WHERE HIS STRENGTH COMES FROM.
CLASSIFIED MISSION
Every army understands one principle:
CUT THE SUPPLY LINE, AND EVENTUALLY THE SOLDIER WEAKENS.
Weapons are useless without ammunition.
Vehicles stop without fuel.
Soldiers cannot continue indefinitely without food and water.
An army may possess extraordinary training, tremendous experience, and a history of victories—
but sever it from its source of supply, and strength begins disappearing.
The same principle exposes one of the most subtle battlefields of the Christian life.
The enemy does not always need to convince believers to abandon Christ openly.
Sometimes he needs only to convince them:
YOU CAN HANDLE THIS YOURSELF.
Pray less.
Receive less.
Depend less.
Become increasingly self-sufficient.
Turn yesterday’s revelation into today’s substitute for communion.
Transform spiritual maturity into independence from the very One who gives life.
But Jesus revealed the intelligence plainly:
“Without me ye can do nothing.”
— John 15:5
The branch was never designed to become independent of the Vine.
THE BRANCH LIVES BECAUSE THE SUPPLY CONTINUES.
This is not a minor operational detail.
This is the difference between a living branch and a cut branch that still looks green for a short season.
OPENING INTELLIGENCE
One of the greatest misunderstandings of spiritual maturity is the belief that mature believers eventually need less grace.
At the beginning, we know we need God.
We know we need mercy.
We know we need help.
We know we cannot save ourselves.
Then something dangerous can happen.
Experience increases.
Knowledge increases.
Giftings develop.
Ministry grows.
Scripture becomes familiar.
Victories accumulate.
And quietly the soul can begin living from:
experience instead of communion,
knowledge instead of reception,
giftings instead of dependence,
discipline instead of divine supply.
None of those things are evil.
But none of them are:
THE VINE.
The veteran branch needs the Vine just as completely as the newest branch.
Spiritual maturity is therefore not:
NEEDING CHRIST LESS.
It is increasingly understanding:
HOW COMPLETELY OUR LIFE IS IN CHRIST.
The longer a soldier has been on the battlefield, the more dangerous it becomes to forget the source of his strength.
The more fruitful a branch becomes, the more subtle the temptation to believe the fruit originated in the branch itself.
FIRST ILLUMINATION
THE BRANCH HAS NO INDEPENDENT LIFE
John 15 is devastating to religious self-sufficiency.
Jesus says:
“Abide in me, and I in you.”
Then He gives the governing image:
“As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine…”
Notice the phrase:
CANNOT BEAR FRUIT OF ITSELF.
The problem is not merely that producing fruit independently is difficult.
Jesus says the branch:
CANNOT.
Why?
Because fruit is the manifestation of a life supplied from somewhere deeper.
The branch displays externally what the Vine supplies internally.
This gives us a powerful operational principle:
SUPPLY PRECEDES FRUIT.
Religion reverses the order.
Religion demands fruit and then tells the branch to manufacture it.
Jesus establishes the true sequence:
VINE
↓
ABIDING
↓
LIFE
↓
FRUIT.
The fruit does not create union.
UNION PRODUCES FRUIT.
Any system that pressures the branch to produce while ignoring the Vine is already operating under enemy intelligence.
It may generate activity.
It may generate appearance.
It will never generate the life of the Son.
THE SUPPLY-LINE WAR
The serpent’s ancient strategy has always involved autonomous life.
The temptation is not merely:
Do something bad.
At a deeper level, the temptation is:
LIVE FROM YOURSELF.
Define yourself independently.
Supply yourself independently.
Establish righteousness independently.
Generate wisdom independently.
Produce spiritual life independently.
Become your own source.
This is why spiritual self-sufficiency is so dangerous.
It can wear religious clothing.
A person can be extraordinarily disciplined and yet deeply self-dependent.
A person can perform spiritual activities while inwardly drawing identity from personal achievement.
A person can even preach grace while functionally living by self-supply.
The battlefield is therefore not merely:
WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
The deeper intelligence question is:
WHAT ARE YOU DRAWING FROM?
The serpent does not need to destroy the Vine.
He only needs to convince the branch that it no longer requires continuous connection.
CLASSIFIED REVELATION
GRACE DESTROYS THE ILLUSION OF AUTONOMY
Paul learned something that human strength naturally resists.
He prayed concerning his weakness.
And the Lord answered:
“My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”
— 2 Corinthians 12:9
This is extraordinary.
Paul encounters:
GRACE
and:
STRENGTH
in the same divine answer.
Grace is sufficient.
Divine strength becomes manifest in weakness.
Paul therefore reaches a shocking conclusion:
“When I am weak, then am I strong.”
— 2 Corinthians 12:10
How can weakness become strength?
Not because weakness itself possesses power.
But because weakness can expose the illusion of self-sufficiency and drive the believer into dependence upon:
CHRIST’S POWER.
The equation changes.
Not:
MY STRENGTH → MY SUCCESS.
But:
MY NEED → HIS GRACE → HIS POWER.
This is not the celebration of weakness as an end.
It is the exposure of a lie that has kept the branch attempting to live as if it were its own vine.
WEAKNESS IS NOT THE SUPPLY
This distinction matters.
We are not commanded to worship weakness.
We do not pursue failure so that grace can appear.
We do not glorify incapacity.
The supply is not weakness.
THE SUPPLY IS CHRIST.
Weakness simply reveals what was always true:
The branch never contained an independent source of divine life.
The moment self-sufficiency collapses can therefore become an extraordinary doorway into revelation.
The believer discovers:
I do not have to manufacture what God has promised to supply.
The collapse of self-reliance is not the end of the mission.
It is often the beginning of true operational strength.
INTELLIGENCE DISCOVERY 2
THERE IS A THRONE BEHIND THE SUPPLY LINE
Where does Hebrews tell the needy believer to go?
Not inward toward greater self-effort.
Not backward toward condemnation.
Not away from God until performance improves.
It says:
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace…”
— Hebrews 4:16
Why?
“…that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
This is supply-line language.
NEED EXISTS.
↓
ACCESS IS OPEN.
↓
THE THRONE IS GRACE.
↓
GRACE IS FOUND.
↓
HELP IS RECEIVED.
The existence of need is not evidence that the supply line has failed.
Need becomes the occasion for approaching the supply.
This overturns religious consciousness.
Religion says:
Hide your need.
Grace says:
COME BOLDLY.
Religion says:
Fix yourself before approaching.
Grace says:
COME FOR HELP.
Religion says:
Your weakness disqualifies you.
The throne says:
RECEIVE.
THE THRONE OF GRACE IS NOT EMPTY
Consider the magnitude of the phrase:
THE THRONE OF GRACE.
A throne speaks of government.
Authority.
Dominion.
Rule.
Therefore grace is not presented in Hebrews as a minor peripheral doctrine.
The believer approaches a throne characterized by grace.
And Romans 5 goes further:
GRACE REIGNS.
Sin reigned unto death.
But Paul declares:
“Even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.”
— Romans 5:21
There are two governments in view.
SIN → DEATH.
But:
GRACE → RIGHTEOUSNESS → ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH JESUS CHRIST.
The supply line comes from a reigning throne.
It is not a temporary emergency ration system.
It is the governing reality of the new creation.
The throne does not occasionally dispense grace.
Grace is the atmosphere of the throne.
THE ENEMY STRONGHOLD
SPIRITUAL SELF-SUFFICIENCY
The enemy does not fear religious activity that remains disconnected from Christ’s life.
Human beings can exhaust themselves trying to produce externally what only divine life can authentically sustain.
The symptoms are recognizable:
- Exhaustion — because self is carrying what grace was meant to supply.
- Performance anxiety — because identity becomes connected to results.
- Pride — because success appears self-generated.
- Condemnation — because failure appears to expose personal worthlessness.
- Comparison — because other branches become competitors rather than fellow recipients of the Vine’s life.
- Burnout — because the soul attempts to maintain output without sufficient abiding.
All of these can orbit one central deception:
I MUST GENERATE THE LIFE.
Jesus answers:
ABIDE.
The stronghold is not always open rebellion.
Often it is the quiet assumption that the branch has finally learned how to live without continuous reception.
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN EFFORT AND SELF-SUPPLY
This briefing is not an argument against effort.
Paul labored tremendously.
He disciplined himself.
He preached.
He traveled.
He endured.
He worked.
But listen carefully to how he interpreted his labor:
“I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:10
This may be one of the greatest supply-line scriptures in the New Testament.
Paul does not say:
Grace means I do nothing.
Nor does he say:
I accomplished everything through autonomous strength.
He says:
I LABORED— YET NOT I— BUT THE GRACE OF GOD WITH ME.
Grace does not necessarily eliminate activity.
GRACE CHANGES THE SOURCE OF ACTIVITY.
This is the difference between:
self-powered striving
and:
grace-empowered labor.
The first exhausts the soldier.
The second multiplies the soldier’s capacity while keeping the glory with the Source.
THE SOD HA-SOD MYSTERY
THE BRANCH REVEALS THE SECRET OF THE KINGDOM
Look deeply at the Vine.
The branch bears fruit.
The fruit appears upon the branch.
Someone looking only at the surface could say:
Look what the branch produced.
But hidden inside the visible fruit is an invisible history of supply.
Life traveled from the Vine.
Sap entered the branch.
What was invisible became visible.
What was supplied internally appeared externally.
This becomes a profound picture of grace and glory.
Grace is received.
Life works within.
Christ is formed.
Fruit appears.
Glory becomes visible.
Therefore:
THE FRUIT IS NOT THE BRANCH BOASTING. THE FRUIT IS THE VINE BECOMING VISIBLE THROUGH THE BRANCH.
This anticipates the entire journey:
GRACE TO GLORY.
The glory that will be revealed is not the independent greatness of the branch.
It is the life of the Vine made fully visible in a people who have learned to remain in continual reception.
JOHN’S SUPPLY REPORT
John gives the supply line another name:
HIS FULLNESS.
“And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.”
— John 1:16
Where does the supply originate?
HIS FULLNESS.
What is the posture of humanity?
RECEIVING.
What comes?
GRACE FOR GRACE.
Grace upon grace.
The believer is not commanded to manufacture Christ’s fullness.
We receive from it.
This is why the Christian life cannot outgrow grace.
The supply originates in a fullness that is not ours independently.
IT IS HIS.
There is no graduation from the school of reception.
There is only deeper entrance into the Fullness that never diminishes.
YESTERDAY’S GRACE
A dangerous spiritual mistake is attempting to live today from yesterday’s reception.
Yesterday’s revelation may remain true.
Yesterday’s testimony may remain precious.
Yesterday’s encounter may remain formative.
But relationship with Christ is living.
Jesus says:
ABIDE.
Not:
Remember that you once abided.
Hebrews says:
COME.
Not:
You came once, therefore never approach again.
Peter says:
GROW IN GRACE.
The New Testament consistently describes an ongoing relationship of dependence and reception.
This is not because Christ’s work is incomplete.
It is because communion with the living Christ is not a historical artifact.
THE FINISHED WORK PRODUCES AN OPEN SUPPLY LINE.
The Cross closed the door of condemnation.
It opened the continuous access of grace.
OPERATIONAL WARNING
DO NOT TURN GRACE INTO A SUBSTANCE TO ACCUMULATE
“More grace” must be understood carefully.
Grace is not a magical fluid mechanically stored inside the believer.
Scripture speaks of God’s favor, gift, generosity, empowering activity, and gracious action in Christ.
Therefore when we speak in RLM language about:
DRINKING GRACE
or:
RECEIVING MORE GRACE,
we are describing deeper participation in what God freely gives through Christ and the Spirit.
We are not replacing Christ with an impersonal spiritual substance.
CHRIST IS THE SOURCE. GRACE IS HIS GIFT. THE SPIRIT GIVES LIFE. THE BELIEVER RECEIVES.
This safeguard keeps the supply line personal.
The moment grace becomes an impersonal force we try to store, we have already begun drifting from the living Person who is Himself the Vine.
THE FALSE SOLDIER
Religion trains a soldier who says:
I am strong because I never need help.
The Kingdom trains another kind:
I AM STRONG BECAUSE I KNOW WHERE HELP IS FOUND.
Religion says maturity means:
less dependence.
Jesus says:
ABIDE IN ME.
Religion celebrates autonomous strength.
Paul celebrates:
THE POWER OF CHRIST RESTING UPON HIM.
Religion hides weakness.
Grace brings need boldly before the throne.
Religion manufactures appearances.
The Vine produces fruit.
The false soldier is often impressive in public and exhausted in private.
The true soldier may appear weak by religious standards yet remains continually supplied from the Throne.
THE STRONGEST SOLDIER
The strongest soldier in this operation is not the one who claims:
I need nothing.
It is the one who knows:
where the supply is.
When tired:
THE THRONE.
When accused:
THE THRONE.
When weak:
THE THRONE.
When confused:
CHRIST.
When thirsty:
CHRIST.
When fruitful:
REMAIN IN CHRIST.
When successful:
REMAIN IN CHRIST.
When experienced:
REMAIN IN CHRIST.
When strong:
REMAIN IN CHRIST.
Because the greatest danger is not merely weakness.
Sometimes the greatest danger is becoming strong enough in our own estimation that we stop receiving.
The soldier who still knows how to come boldly remains operationally dangerous to the kingdom of darkness.
The soldier who has graduated in his own mind from the throne becomes vulnerable the moment the next battle begins.
INTELLIGENCE DISCOVERY 3
PRIDE AND CONDEMNATION COME FROM THE SAME FALSE SOURCE
This is deeper than it first appears.
If I believe spiritual life originates in me, two outcomes become inevitable.
When I succeed:
PRIDE.
“I produced this.”
When I fail:
CONDEMNATION.
“I could not produce this.”
Both keep consciousness centered upon:
SELF AS SOURCE.
Grace destroys both illusions.
When fruit appears:
Thank God for His grace.
When weakness appears:
Come boldly for grace.
Success does not enthrone self.
Failure does not exile us from the throne.
The entire system becomes Christ-centered.
Paul’s testimony remains:
“YET NOT I, BUT THE GRACE OF GOD WHICH WAS WITH ME.”
Pride and condemnation are not opposites.
They are twins born from the same lie:
that the branch is its own source.
SUPPLY BEFORE ASSIGNMENT
Many believers ask first:
What am I supposed to do?
Heaven’s intelligence asks first:
WHAT ARE YOU LIVING FROM?
Assignment without supply becomes striving.
Calling without communion becomes pressure.
Ministry without abiding becomes performance.
Knowledge without dependence can become pride.
Even obedience can become distorted when it becomes an attempt to establish identity apart from Christ.
The divine order is:
RECEIVE.
Then:
RESPOND.
The branch does not produce fruit to convince the Vine to accept it.
The branch bears fruit because it:
ABIDES.
The order cannot be reversed without cost.
Every assignment that is not continually supplied from the Throne will eventually exhaust the one carrying it.
THE GRACE-GLORY CONNECTION
Now the mission begins connecting directly to glorification.
How does the believer move from grace toward glory?
Not through increasing independence from God.
Exactly the opposite.
The journey toward glory is increasing participation in Christ.
Paul says:
“Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
Therefore:
MORE GRACE
does not mean:
more autonomous spiritual power belonging to me.
It means deeper reception of God’s gracious life and work in Christ.
And:
MORE GLORY
does not mean:
more independent human greatness.
It means increasing conformity to:
JESUS CHRIST.
The supply line protects the entire theology of glorification.
If the branch severs itself from the Vine in the name of maturity, it will never reach the glory that only the life of the Vine can produce.
FIELD INTELLIGENCE
Ask yourself:
Where am I trying to produce what I should be receiving?
Where has discipline become self-reliance?
Where has experience replaced present communion?
Where has success caused me to forget the Vine?
Where has failure made me run from the throne instead of toward it?
Where am I carrying an assignment without continually receiving divine supply?
These are not questions designed to create condemnation.
They expose blocked supply lines.
And the answer is astonishingly simple:
COME BOLDLY.
The diagnosis is not meant to produce more self-effort.
It is meant to return the soldier to the open Throne.
RESTORING THE SUPPLY LINE
The mission does not require constructing a new source.
The Source already exists.
CHRIST IS FULL.
The throne is open.
Grace is available.
The Spirit gives life.
Therefore restore the operational sequence:
RECOGNIZE NEED.
↓
TURN TOWARD CHRIST.
↓
APPROACH THE THRONE.
↓
RECEIVE GRACE.
↓
ABIDE.
↓
ACT FROM SUPPLY.
↓
GIVE GOD THE GLORY.
This is the rhythm of grace.
It is not complicated.
It is continuously necessary.
FROM SELF-CONSCIOUSNESS TO CHRIST-CONSCIOUSNESS
The self-sufficient believer continually measures himself.
Am I strong enough?
Am I spiritual enough?
Am I performing well enough?
Am I producing enough?
Grace redirects the gaze:
IS CHRIST SUFFICIENT?
Paul received the answer:
“MY GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR THEE.”
This does not destroy responsible action.
It destroys the illusion that responsible action originates in an autonomous self.
Paul works.
But grace works with him.
The branch bears fruit.
But the Vine supplies life.
The believer obeys.
But God is at work within.
The soldier fights.
But Heaven maintains the supply line.
Self-consciousness keeps the soul circling itself.
Christ-consciousness keeps the soul open to continuous supply.
MISSION OBJECTIVE
Before entering Chapter II, establish these coordinates:
- The believer was never designed for spiritual independence.
- The branch possesses no autonomous source of divine life.
- Abiding precedes lasting fruitfulness.
- Weakness can expose false self-sufficiency.
- Christ’s grace is sufficient.
- The throne of grace remains open in time of need.
- Grace can empower tremendous labor without giving self the glory.
- Grace destroys both pride and condemnation by relocating the Source.
- Spiritual maturity means deeper dependence upon Christ, not independence from Him.
- And above all:
HEAVEN’S SUPPLY LINE MUST REMAIN OPEN.
OPERATIONAL SEQUENCE
NEED
↓
THRONE
↓

↓
ABIDING IN CHRIST
↓
CHRIST’S STRENGTH

↓
GLORY TO GOD.
FINAL INTELLIGENCE
Hell’s strategy is ancient:
LIVE FROM YOURSELF.
Heaven’s answer is eternal:
LIVE FROM CHRIST.
The serpent whispers:
Become your own source.
Jesus declares:
“ABIDE IN ME.”
Religion says:
Prove your strength.
Jesus says:
“WITHOUT ME YE CAN DO NOTHING.”
Condemnation says:
Your weakness has disqualified you.
Christ says:
“MY GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR THEE.”
Need says:
I have nothing.
The throne answers:
COME BOLDLY.
And John announces:
“OF HIS FULLNESS HAVE ALL WE RECEIVED.”
This is the supply-line war.
The victory is not becoming independent enough to stop receiving.
The victory is discovering that:
THE VINE HAS NEVER RUN DRY. THE THRONE HAS NEVER RUN OUT OF GRACE. CHRIST HAS NEVER CEASED TO BE OUR LIFE.
OPERATION GRACE TO GLORY
SPECIAL FORCES INTELLIGENCE BRIEFING 2
THE SUPPLY-LINE WAR
Mission Accomplished:
The false doctrine of spiritual self-sufficiency has been exposed.
The soldier knows where his strength comes from.
The branch has returned to the Vine.
The needy have located the Throne.
The supply line is open.
And now we are prepared to enter Chapter II:
GRACE UPON GRACE.
MORE GRACE. MORE CHRIST. MORE GLORY.
