OPERATION GRACE TO GLORY
RLM TV SPECIAL FORCES INTELLIGENCE BRIEFING 4
THE IMAGE WAR
Whoever Governs the Gaze Influences the Formation
Pairs with Chapter IV — Beholding and Becoming
Mission Classification: Spiritual Vision & Formation
Operational Theater: The Gaze, the Ayin, the Nefesh, and the Image of Christ
Primary Scriptures: Genesis 3:1–7; Psalm 101:3; Matthew 6:22–23; 2 Corinthians 3:12–18; 4:4–6; Colossians 3:1–4; Hebrews 12:1–3
Mission Theme:
THE WAR FOR THE IMAGE
IS FOUGHT AT THE GATE OF BEHOLDING.
Intel Phrase:
HELL WANTS TO OCCUPY THE GAZE.
THE SPIRIT REVEALS THE FACE OF CHRIST.
CLASSIFIED MISSION
Every war has strategic territory.
Armies fight for cities.
Nations fight for borders.
Kingdoms fight for gates.
But there is another territory of extraordinary importance:
HUMAN ATTENTION.
What repeatedly occupies the gaze can influence what fills consciousness.
What fills consciousness can influence thought.
Thought influences desire.
Desire influences action.
And repeated patterns participate in the formation of character.
Therefore, the enemy does not merely attack behavior.
He competes for:
ATTENTION.
Fear wants your attention.
Accusation wants your attention.
Shame wants your attention.
Comparison wants your attention.
Death wants your attention.
The endless spectacle of the world wants your attention.
But the New Covenant unveils a superior vision:
THE GLORY OF THE LORD
IN THE FACE OF JESUS CHRIST.
Operation Grace to Glory has reached:
THE IMAGE WAR.
OPENING INTELLIGENCE
The first three missions established the campaign.
Operation Original Glory recovered the eternal purpose.
The Supply-Line War exposed spiritual self-sufficiency.
Operation Internal Fountain moved us from information into participation.
Now comes a decisive question:
WHAT HAPPENS TO THE SOUL
WHEN DIVINE LIFE IS RECEIVED?
Paul’s answer is astonishing.
The Spirit does not merely give us information.
The Spirit transforms us.
And 2 Corinthians 3 places something remarkable at the center of that transformation:
BEHOLDING.
“And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.”
— 2 Corinthians 3:18 AMPC
This is not casual looking.
This is transformative beholding.
The veil is removed.
The face is turned.
The Lord is beheld.
The Spirit works.
The image changes.
BEHOLDING BECOMES A BATTLEFIELD OF FORMATION.
FIRST ILLUMINATION
THE FIRST CATASTROPHE INVOLVED A CORRUPTED GAZE
Genesis 3 contains a haunting progression.
The serpent speaks.
God’s word is questioned.
Desire is redirected.
And then Scripture says:
“And when the woman saw that the tree was good (suitable, pleasant) for food and that it was delightful to look at, and a tree to be desired in order to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate; and she gave some also to her husband, and he ate.”
— Genesis 3:6 AMPC
The catastrophe cannot be reduced merely to eyesight.
The sin was disobedience to God.
But the text deliberately includes:
SEEING.
The serpent supplied an interpretation.
The woman contemplated the tree through that interpretation.
What God had forbidden became desirable.
The object had not changed.
THE INTERPRETATION OF THE OBJECT HAD CHANGED.
This gives us critical intelligence:
THE GAZE IS NEVER ONLY ABOUT WHAT IS SEEN.
There is also the question:
WHO IS INTERPRETING WHAT YOU SEE?
THE SERPENT’S INTERPRETIVE WARFARE
Before Eve took the fruit, the serpent attacked God’s word.
“Has God said…?”
Then:
“You shall not surely die…”
Then:
“You shall be as gods…”
The serpent attempts to place a counterfeit narrative over reality.
This is crucial to the Image War.
Captured attention is not merely staring at the wrong object.
It is:
SEEING THROUGH THE WRONG VOICE.
Fear interprets circumstances.
Accusation interprets weakness.
Shame interprets memory.
Comparison interprets another person’s success.
The serpent interprets God’s command.
The external image enters the gaze—
but an internal voice tells the soul:
WHAT IT MEANS.
Therefore guarding the gaze requires more than closing the physical eyes.
It requires discerning:
THE VOICE BEHIND THE INTERPRETATION.
ENEMY STRONGHOLD
CAPTURED ATTENTION
The modern world possesses unprecedented machinery for capturing human attention.
Images move continuously.
Notifications interrupt continuously.
Outrage renews continuously.
Comparison renews continuously.
Fear renews continuously.
The soul can become trained to jump from stimulus to stimulus until contemplation itself becomes difficult.
The strategic question is not merely whether every image is sinful.
The deeper question is:
WHAT IS FORMING THE FIELD OF YOUR ATTENTION?
What receives the first look?
What receives the longest look?
What receives the repeated look?
What follows you into meditation?
What occupies imagination when external noise disappears?
What image dominates the inner landscape?
Because the battlefield is not simply:
WHAT HAVE YOU SEEN?
It is:
WHAT ARE YOU BEHOLDING?
THE SINGLE-EYE INTELLIGENCE
Jesus says:
“The eye is the lamp of the body. So if your eye is sound, your entire body will be full of light. But if your eye is unsound, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the very light in you [your conscience] is darkened, how dense is that darkness!”
— Matthew 6:22–23 AMPC
The surrounding teaching concerns treasure, perception, light, darkness, and ultimately whom one serves.
The eye therefore becomes powerful kingdom imagery.
Within the RLM framework, we can speak of the Ayin as the gate of perception and attention.
But Jesus’ own emphasis must govern the revelation:
IF THE EYE IS SOUND,
THE BODY IS FULL OF LIGHT.
This brings us to a profound strategic principle:
HEAVEN IS NOT ONLY INTERESTED
IN WHAT LEAVES YOUR LIFE.
HEAVEN IS INTERESTED
IN WHAT FILLS YOUR VISION.
INTELLIGENCE DISCOVERY 2
THE NEW COVENANT ANSWERS THE SERPENT WITH A FACE
This is one of the deepest revelations in this briefing.
The serpent gives humanity:
A COUNTERFEIT VISION.
The Gospel answers with:
THE FACE OF JESUS CHRIST.
Paul writes:
“For God Who said, Let light shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts so as [to beam forth] the Light for the illumination of the knowledge of the majesty and glory of God [as it is manifest in the Person and is revealed] in the face of Jesus Christ (the Messiah).”
— 2 Corinthians 4:6 AMPC
Notice the movement:
GOD SPEAKS LIGHT.
↓
LIGHT SHINES IN HEARTS.
↓
KNOWLEDGE OF GLORY APPEARS.
↓
GLORY IS REVEALED IN THE FACE OF CHRIST.
The answer to corrupted vision is not merely:
STOP LOOKING.
The greater answer is:
BEHOLD SOMEONE GREATER.
GIVE THE SOUL A SUPERIOR VISION
This is the central strategy of The Image War.
Religion often specializes in prohibition.
Don’t look.
Don’t think.
Don’t desire.
Don’t imagine.
There is certainly a biblical place for refusing what corrupts the soul.
“I will set no base or wicked thing before my eyes. I hate the work of them who turn aside [from the right path]; it shall not grasp hold of me.”
— Psalm 101:3 AMPC
But New Covenant transformation goes further.
It does not merely empty the field of vision.
IT FILLS THE FIELD WITH CHRIST.
This is enormously important.
You cannot build the entire Christian life around:
WHAT NOT TO BEHOLD.
Eventually the soul must discover:
WHO TO BEHOLD.
Christ is not merely the alternative to darkness.
CHRIST IS THE SUPERIOR VISION.
THE VEIL
2 Corinthians 3 identifies another enemy of beholding:
THE VEIL.
A veil does not necessarily destroy the object.
It prevents clear sight of the object.
Christ remains glorious.
But the veiled consciousness does not perceive Him clearly.
Paul says:
“But whenever a person turns [in repentance] to the Lord, the veil is stripped off and taken away.”
— 2 Corinthians 3:16 AMPC
Watch the first movement:
TURN TO THE LORD.
Before transformation comes orientation.
Before glory-to-glory comes:
THE TURN.
The face must be redirected.
Attention must be recovered.
The gaze must be liberated.
This gives us the first battlefield command:
TURN.
THE FIVE-STAGE IMAGE OPERATION
Paul gives us a magnificent transformational sequence:
- VEIL REMOVED
The obstruction is taken away in Christ.
↓ - FACE TURNED
Attention becomes oriented toward the Lord.
↓ - CHRIST BEHELD
The glory of the Lord becomes the superior vision.
↓ - SPIRIT TRANSFORMS
The believer does not manufacture the metamorphosis.
↓ - IMAGE CHANGES
The beholder is transformed into:
HIS IMAGE.
This is the Image War.
CLASSIFIED REVELATION
BEHOLDING IS NOT SELF-TRANSFORMATION
We must protect this revelation carefully.
Paul does not teach:
Look hard enough and transform yourself.
The transforming Agent is:
THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD.
The believer beholds.
The Spirit transforms.
Therefore Christian contemplation is not a technique for self-deification.
It is communion with the living Christ under the transforming activity of the Holy Spirit.
The sequence is not:
self → concentration → self-improvement.
It is:
CHRIST → BEHOLDING → SPIRIT → TRANSFORMATION.
This preserves grace at the center of glory.
THE SOD HA-SOD MYSTERY
THE IMAGE ENTERS THROUGH LIGHT
Return to Genesis.
The serpent draws attention toward an image interpreted by deception.
Now return to Paul.
The god of this world attempts to blind minds so they do not see:
“…the illuminating light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ (the Messiah), Who is the Image and Likeness of God.”
— 2 Corinthians 4:4 AMPC
Then God answers by shining:
LIGHT.
And that light reveals:
GLORY.
And that glory is encountered:
IN CHRIST.
Then 2 Corinthians 3 says the unveiled beholder is transformed:
INTO THE SAME IMAGE.
This creates an extraordinary apostolic movement:
BLINDNESS
↓
LIGHT
↓
CHRIST
↓
GLORY
↓
BEHOLDING
↓
TRANSFORMATION
↓
IMAGE.
The war over vision is therefore ultimately:
A WAR OVER WHICH IMAGE
WILL GOVERN HUMAN CONSCIOUSNESS.
THE TWO MIRRORS
Imagine two mirrors before the soul.
One continually reflects:
your failures,
your fears,
your wounds,
your comparison,
your mortality,
your accusation,
your old identity.
The other reveals:
THE GLORY OF THE LORD.
If the entire spiritual life consists of staring at the first mirror while desperately attempting to improve its reflection, consciousness remains trapped in self.
But Paul directs us toward:
THE LORD.
This is the great displacement.
Grace does not merely tell the old image:
Try harder.
Grace turns the face toward:
CHRIST.
And the Spirit begins changing the beholder.
ACCUSATION WANTS TO BE BEHELD
This deserves special intelligence attention.
Accusation survives by repetition.
It brings the same failure before consciousness.
Again.
Again.
Again.
It demands meditation.
It wants the soul staring continuously at what is wrong.
Why?
Because accusation wants to become:
THE DOMINANT IMAGE.
But the Gospel gives the accused another vision:
JESUS CHRIST.
His finished work.
His righteousness.
His mercy.
His grace.
His life.
His glory.
The answer is not pretending failure never occurred.
The answer is refusing to allow failure to become greater in consciousness than:
CHRIST.
FEAR WANTS TO BE BEHELD
Fear behaves similarly.
Fear projects an image of a future that has not happened.
Then it demands that the soul repeatedly contemplate that image.
“What if?”
“What if?”
“What if?”
The body may begin responding emotionally to an event that exists only as a feared possibility.
Fear has occupied the theater of imagination.
The New Covenant response is not denial of real danger.
It is the restoration of a superior center:
CHRIST.
Hebrews says:
“Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection].”
— Hebrews 12:2 AMPC
That is Image War language.
LOOKING AWAY.
LOOKING UNTO.
Attention is being repositioned.
COMPARISON WANTS TO BE BEHELD
Comparison captures the gaze through another person’s image.
Their success.
Their appearance.
Their ministry.
Their possessions.
Their recognition.
Their influence.
Their gifts.
Then the soul interprets itself through someone else’s visible life.
But comparison becomes weaker when the governing question changes from:
How do I compare with them?
to:
AM I BEHOLDING CHRIST?
The goal of redemption is not conformity to another believer.
Romans 8 says we are predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son.
Christ is the standard.
Christ is the vision.
Christ is the destination.
THE AYIN BATTLEFIELD
Within our RLM theological framework, we can now describe the Ayin as strategic territory.
The eye represents perception.
The Nefesh receives impressions, interprets experience, remembers, desires, and responds.
If the Ayin remains continually occupied with death, fear, accusation, scarcity, and the serpent’s interpretations, the inner world becomes saturated with those images.
But the New Covenant announces:
THE VEIL CAN BE REMOVED.
The face can turn.
The Ayin can behold:
THE GLORY OF THE LORD.
The Spirit can work within the Nefesh.
The image can change.
This is not magic through eyesight.
It is a symbolic framework for Paul’s explicit reality:
UNVEILED BEHOLDING
AND SPIRIT-WROUGHT TRANSFORMATION.
FROM INFORMATION TO VISION
Briefing 3 confronted information without participation.
Briefing 4 goes further.
We can know facts about Jesus without allowing Christ Himself to become the governing vision of the heart.
Information says:
Jesus is glorious.
Beholding says:
SHOW ME YOUR GLORY.
Information says:
Christ is the image of God.
Beholding turns toward:
CHRIST.
Information describes transformation.
Beholding participates in the relational environment where:
THE SPIRIT TRANSFORMS.
Therefore theology must ultimately serve:
VISION.
THE WAR AGAINST DISTRACTION
Not every distraction is demonic.
Human attention is naturally limited.
Modern technology is deliberately designed in many cases to compete for that attention.
Therefore wisdom matters.
The soldier cannot control every image appearing in the world.
But the soldier can cultivate:
ATTENTIONAL GOVERNMENT.
What receives sustained meditation?
What gets permission to remain?
What receives emotional investment?
What becomes the interpretive center?
The goal is not obsessive self-monitoring.
The goal is:
A HEART INCREASINGLY ORIENTED TOWARD CHRIST.
OPERATIONAL WARNING
DO NOT TURN BEHOLDING INTO VISUALIZATION MAGIC
Beholding Christ does not mean inventing whatever mental image we desire and assuming imagination itself transforms us.
Paul anchors beholding in:
Christ,
the Gospel,
the Spirit,
the New Covenant,
and:
the glory of the Lord.
Scripture reveals Christ.
The Gospel declares Christ.
The Spirit glorifies Christ.
Faith turns toward Christ.
Therefore the safest center of beholding is:
JESUS CHRIST AS REVEALED BY THE SPIRIT THROUGH THE APOSTOLIC GOSPEL.
The power is not in mental imagery.
THE POWER IS OF THE SPIRIT.
THE GLORY SUPERIORITY PRINCIPLE
Here is the great strategy:
If darkness demands attention—
GIVE THE SOUL LIGHT.
If accusation demands attention—
GIVE THE SOUL CHRIST’S FINISHED WORK.
If fear demands attention—
GIVE THE SOUL CHRIST’S FAITHFULNESS.
If comparison demands attention—
GIVE THE SOUL CHRIST AS ITS IMAGE.
If death demands attention—
GIVE THE SOUL RESURRECTION.
If the serpent presents a counterfeit image—
BEHOLD THE LORD.
The Kingdom does not win merely by removing inferior images.
IT REVEALS A SUPERIOR GLORY.
INTELLIGENCE DISCOVERY 3
WHAT FILLS THE EYE CAN FILL THE BODY WITH LIGHT
Jesus’ teaching concerning the eye leads directly into:
LIGHT.
Paul’s teaching concerning the Gospel also leads into:
LIGHT.
Genesis begins creation with:
LIGHT.
John presents Christ as:
THE LIGHT.
And Paul says God shines light:
IN OUR HEARTS.
This biblical light motif gives us a profound framework:
The Image War is not merely psychological attention management.
At its deepest New Covenant level, it is the unveiling of:
DIVINE LIGHT IN CHRIST.
Darkness loses territory when Christ is revealed.
FROM BEHOLDING TO BECOMING
Now we reach the decisive intelligence.
The Christian goal is not simply:
SEE JESUS.
It is:
SEE JESUS AND BE TRANSFORMED BY THE SPIRIT
INTO HIS IMAGE.
Paul’s word metamorphoō gives us the language of transformation.
The same image.
Glory to glory.
By the Spirit.
This means the Image War has an objective.
The gaze is not recovered merely for peaceful contemplation.
The gaze is recovered because:
GOD IS FORMING CHRIST IN HIS PEOPLE.
This prepares the battlefield for everything coming next.
Briefing 5 will move from:
VISION
to:
FORMATION.
Because once Christ becomes the superior vision, the next mystery is:
CHRIST FORMED WITHIN.
FIELD INTELLIGENCE
Examine the gates without condemnation.
Ask:
What receives most of my sustained attention?
What image dominates my inward world?
What voice interprets what I see?
Does fear narrate my future?
Does accusation narrate my past?
Does comparison narrate my identity?
Does the world’s spectacle determine what feels real?
Or:
IS CHRIST BECOMING THE GOVERNING VISION?
Ask another question:
WHAT AM I BEHOLDING LONG ENOUGH
TO BECOME CONSCIOUS OF ITS GLORY?
The answer exposes the battlefield.
RECAPTURING THE GAZE
The mission does not require living with closed eyes.
It requires restoring spiritual orientation.
TURN TO THE LORD.
↓
LET THE VEIL FALL.
↓
OPEN THE SCRIPTURES.
↓
BEHOLD CHRIST.
↓
RECEIVE THE LIGHT OF THE GOSPEL.
↓
REMAIN IN COMMUNION.
↓
LET THE SPIRIT TRANSFORM.
↓
WALK IN THE NEW IMAGE.
This is attentional warfare under grace.
THE IMAGE OF THE EARTHY VS. THE IMAGE OF THE HEAVENLY
Paul’s larger theology reveals where the Image War ultimately goes.
“And just as we have borne the image [of the man] of dust, so shall we and so let us also bear the image [of the Man] of heaven.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:49 AMPC
There are two images.
The earthy.
The heavenly.
Adam.
Christ.
Mortality.
Resurrection.
Corruption.
Glory.
Therefore the battle for attention participates in something much larger:
THE TRANSITION FROM THE EARTHY IMAGE
TOWARD THE HEAVENLY IMAGE.
The gaze has an eschatological destination.
CHRIST.
THE IMAGE WAR AND GRACE
We must never lose the series theme.
This transformation is still:
GRACE TO GLORY.
Grace removes condemnation so we can turn toward the Lord.
Grace grants access.
Grace supplies.
Grace reveals Christ.
Grace does not demand that the old image repair itself.
The Spirit transforms us into:
THE IMAGE OF CHRIST.
Therefore:
GRACE DOES NOT PERFECT SELF-OBSESSION.
GRACE LIBERATES THE GAZE FROM SELF
TO BEHOLD CHRIST.
And beholding Christ, we move:
FROM GLORY TO GLORY.
MISSION OBJECTIVE
Before entering Chapter IV, establish these coordinates:
- Human attention is spiritually significant.
- Genesis 3 shows distorted desire involving distorted seeing and interpretation.
- The serpent’s voice attempts to reinterpret reality.
- Captured attention can saturate consciousness with fear, accusation, comparison, and darkness.
- The New Covenant does not merely prohibit inferior images; it reveals the superior glory of Christ.
- The veil is removed in Christ.
- The believer turns toward the Lord.
- Christ is beheld.
- The Holy Spirit—not human concentration—is the transforming Agent.
- The believer is transformed into the image of Christ from glory to glory.
- And:
THE WAR FOR THE IMAGE
IS FOUGHT AT THE GATE OF BEHOLDING.
OPERATIONAL SEQUENCE
VEIL REMOVED
↓
FACE TURNED
↓
LIGHT SHINES
↓
CHRIST REVEALED
↓
GLORY BEHELD
↓
SPIRIT TRANSFORMS
↓
IMAGE CHANGES
↓
CHRIST MANIFESTED.
FINAL INTELLIGENCE
Hell wants to occupy the gaze.
Not because every glance mechanically transforms a human being—
but because attention is precious territory.
Whatever continually captures attention can become enormous in consciousness.
The serpent says:
LOOK HERE.
Fear says:
LOOK AT ME.
Accusation says:
LOOK BACK.
Comparison says:
LOOK AT THEM.
The world says:
LOOK AT EVERYTHING.
But the Spirit unveils another vision:
LOOK UNTO JESUS.
There is a glory greater than fear.
There is a face greater than accusation.
There is an image greater than Adam.
There is a light greater than darkness.
There is a reality greater than death.
JESUS CHRIST.
The enemy’s strategy is captured attention.
Heaven’s strategy is unveiled beholding.
The objective is not merely to stop seeing darkness.
THE OBJECTIVE IS TO SEE CHRIST SO CLEARLY
THAT THE SPIRIT TRANSFORMS THE BEHOLDER.
The veil falls.
The face turns.
The light shines.
Christ appears.
The Spirit moves.
The image changes.
And the believer advances:
FROM GLORY
TO GLORY.
OPERATION GRACE TO GLORY
SPECIAL FORCES INTELLIGENCE BRIEFING 4
THE IMAGE WAR
Mission Accomplished:
The battlefield of attention has been exposed.
The serpent’s interpretive strategy has been identified.
Captured attention has been recognized as contested territory.
The veil is being removed.
The face is turning toward the Lord.
The superior vision has been revealed:
JESUS CHRIST.
And now we are prepared to enter Chapter IV:
BEHOLDING AND BECOMING.
MORE GRACE.
MORE CHRIST.
MORE GLORY.
BEHOLD HIM.
BECOME BY THE SPIRIT.
From Grace to Glory,
