Abstract
This paper unveils the secret of the “exceedingly great mystery” (Ephesians 5:32) of divine marriage, drawing upon Christian Torah scholarship and classical Kabbalistic wisdom. Through typological and symbolic exegesis, it identifies the Second Adam and Second Eve as the two cherubim overshadowing the Ark of the Covenant, with Moshiach Yehoshua as the Center Pillar of the Mercy Seat. This configuration reveals the Divine Chariot (Merkavah) by which humanity ascends 120 weeks—the full redemptive path of the heart’s circumcision, reversing the curse of the Fall. The divine union obliterates the foreskin of each rung, abolishes the shadow of the Noga shell, and fulfills the prophecy of the days of Noah by raising up the children of the resurrection.
- Introduction: The Ark as a Symbol of Cosmic Marriage
The Ark of the Covenant is the most sacred object in the Mishkan, overshadowed by two cherubim (Exodus 25:18–22). In Christian Kabbalah, these represent not only angelic beings but the prophetic form of the Second Adam and Second Eve—resurrected humanity in divine marriage, seated in mercy above judgment. Between them is the Kapporet, the Mercy Seat, which embodies the Tiferet (Beauty) of the Center Pillar. The Apostle Paul echoes this secret in his declaration of marriage as a “great mystery” (μυστήριον μέγα) referring to Christ and the Church (Eph. 5:32).
The Ark of the Covenant, resting within the Holy of Holies, represents not only the presence of YHVH but a sacred mystery of union. According to Zohar (Terumah, Vol. 2), the two cherubim are not merely angelic sentinels but archetypes of celestial man and woman—Yisrael and Shekhinah—positioned face-to-face, embodying a perfected marital state. In Christian Kabbalah, this is fulfilled in Yehoshua as the Second Adam, and the glorified Church as Second Eve. The mercy seat between them becomes the place of atonement and divine union, the marriage of Heaven and Earth (Zohar 3:59a). This sacred union is the foundation of the New Creation, hidden within the ark, guarded by flame and glory.
- Pauline Theology and the Center Pillar of the Cross
The Cross of Moshiach is the vertical axis of the Tree of Life—the Center Pillar that unites Keter to Malkhut, spanning all 10 Sefirot. The death, burial, and resurrection of Yehoshua the Messiah transforms the mercy seat into the gateway of the resurrection. Through Him, the Second Adam (1 Cor. 15:45) provides the pattern for redeemed humanity to become the “children of the resurrection” (Luke 20:36). The woman, who fell in the first garden, is now raised in the Last Adam as the glorified Eve—the bride of Messiah.
Paul’s revelation in Ephesians 5:32 is grounded in Sod-level mystery. The “great mystery” is not merely about earthly marriage, but about the union of Christ and His Body—a cosmic yichud (unification) of masculine and feminine emanations. In classical Kabbalah, the center pillar is Tiferet, identified as the Son, the image of the invisible God (Col. 1:15). The Zohar states that the middle pillar harmonizes Chesed and Gevurah, making peace between opposites. In Christian fulfillment, Yehoshua on the Cross becomes that Center Pillar, holding the left and right sides in balance—and between the two thieves, man and woman, symbolizing severity and mercy, He is enthroned as King of Glory (Zohar 2:115b).
- The 120-Week Ascension and the Age of Man
As it is written, “The days of man shall be 120 years” (Genesis 6:3). This number is not only chronological but symbolic: a 120-week ascension through Jacob’s Ladder corresponds to the transformation of the human soul through obedience to the Angelic Torah (Psalm 103:20; Acts 7:53). On each rung, the “foreskin” of the soul is removed (Deut. 10:16; Rom. 2:29) by the fire of divine instruction, purifying the vessel until the full Shekinah, the Hashmal (Ezekiel 1:4), is revealed beneath the husk of Noga.
Genesis 6:3 is not only a judgment but a hidden promise: “His days shall be 120 years.” This refers mystically to the 120-week ascension of the soul through Jacob’s Ladder. In the oral tradition of Moses, the soul rises through 10 Sefirot, 22 paths, and 7 palaces, corresponding to the purification of the senses and the transformation of the soul’s members. Moses, who lived exactly 120 years (Deut. 34:7), represents the perfected man who ascends into the hidden chambers of Binah. In Christian Kabbalah, each week represents a world of 10 sefirot, where the foreskin (or klipah) is removed from one organ, sense, or soul faculty, restoring it to its angelic design. Each ascent is through obedience to the angelic law of Christ (James 1:25; Acts 7:53).
- The Days of Noah and the Noga Civilization
Yehoshua warned: “As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be…” (Matthew 24:37). The civilization of the antediluvian world was hidden within the husk of Noga—false light covering Qlippothic corruption. The true children of Adam became imprisoned in fallen angelic states, hybridized through the violation of divine marriage (Gen. 6:2). But through the center pillar of Messiah’s atonement, these distortions are reversed. Every rung conquered in obedience removes the shadows of the old world, opening the heart to the radiance of Eden.
The shell of Noga is the realm of mixed light, as explained in Lurianic Kabbalah. It is neither holy nor wholly evil, but capable of conversion or corruption. The pre-diluvian world lived fully within this shell, blending divine technology with fallen Nephilim genetics (Genesis 6:4; 1 Enoch 7). When Yehoshua says, “As it was in the days of Noah” (Matt. 24:37), He reveals that our present age mirrors that corrupted hybridization. However, the Ark, now the Cross of Moshiach, becomes the vessel of deliverance. As Noah’s Ark contained the righteous, so too does the Ark of Covenant contain the elect who pass through death, burial, and resurrection. Every rung completed destroys a layer of Noga until the Hashmal (Ezekiel 1:4), the inner fire of Shekhinah, shines forth in glory.
- Marriage as the Vehicle of Ascension: The Divine Chariot
The union of the cherubim above the ark models divine marriage. In classical Kabbalah, the chariot (Merkavah) is formed of four living creatures—yet in this exalted interpretation, the new living creatures of 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Briayah Chadashah,” are the cherubim, representing a married man and woman, becoming the first of many who attain union in Christ. Marriage in Yehoshua becomes the throne from which the Shekinah rides upon the soul. In this mystery, the fallen male and female are raised from their carnal angelic inversion into the eternal Adam and Chavah—”bone of My bones, flesh of My flesh” (Genesis 2:23)—now radiant in glorified living gemstone bodies (Phil. 3:21).
Zoharic texts teach that the chariot (Merkavah) is built of four holy faces: lion, ox, eagle, and man (Ezekiel 1:10). But within the Holy of Holies, the cherubim alone remain. In this mystery, marriage is revealed as the vehicle of divine presence. Man and woman in Moshiach become living cherubim, forming the throne upon which the Shekhinah rests. The Zohar (Vol. 3, 7a) states that the unity of husband and wife in holiness causes divine light to dwell on earth. In Christian Kabbalah, this union is perfected only through the crucified and risen Christ, whose Spirit creates a new Adam and Eve. Their marriage becomes the throne of God, where divine governance flows from Heavenly Jerusalem, not carnal dominance.
- Conclusion: Redemption of Humanity and the Ark of New Creation
Thus, the Ark is not merely an Old Covenant relic, but the archetype of the New Creation. It is the map of redeemed humanity and the vehicle of divine marriage through Messiah. In Christ, both man and woman become cherubim-like, guarding and revealing the path back to Eden. Through the center pillar—Yehoshua HaMoshiach—humanity returns to the Tree of Life, ascending 120 weeks of perfection, unveiled from Noga into Hashmal, from lower soul to higher soul, from fallen dust to glorified light.
In Yehoshua, the Ark becomes the cosmic symbol of restored Eden. The cherubim no longer guard the way to the Tree of Life with swords, but invite the purified to re-enter through the blood of the Lamb. The Second Adam and Eve, conformed to Christ, rise from their fallen states as restored rulers, ruling not from below but above. Every week, every rung, every foreskin removed is another veil torn, until the Bride shines with the light of 1,200 Hashmals. This is the exceedingly great mystery: that divine marriage, patterned in the Ark, reveals the path by which the children of the resurrection ascend into everlasting union and rule with the King.
