How to Study the Word for the Word

To study the Word, not for the Word, is to rob YHVH. Our sages have taught that a soul is better off not to have been born than to study the Torah, not for the Torah. Remember, the purpose of man’s creation was to glorify and reflect God, which is, in essence, the study of the Word for the Word. Moshiach’s name is The Torah, The Word. He holds the universes, worlds, and weeks together. God is the order, and to be separate from God is the chaos. All sin and temptation try to disconnect the soul from the Order of the Word, bringing Genesis 1:2, “Chaos on the face of the deep.” Chaos is simply a disconnection from the Word in its function of maintaining and holding the worlds together in righteousness. This divine connection is what makes our study of the Torah a sacred act, a direct link to the divine order:

Hebrews 1:2 AMPC,

“[But] in the last of these days He has spoken to us in [the person of a] Son, Whom He appointed Heir and lawful Owner of all things, also by and through Whom He created the worlds and the reaches of space and the ages of time [He made, produced, built, operated, and arranged them in order].”

So what is true study?

Presenting ourselves approved unto YHVH strengthens the heart and nourishes the spirit with the nutrients of connected order. It recognizes YHVH as the sustainer of all worlds and realms, and without Him, everything is in chaos. However, it’s not just a passive recognition but an active duty. It is the believer’s responsibility, their honor, to study the Word to be approved by God. This act of studying empowers us and enables us to align ourselves with the divine order.

James 1:12 AMPC,

“Blessed (happy, to be envied) is the man who is patient under trial and stands up under temptation, for when he has stood the test and been approved, he will receive [the victor’s] crown of life which God has promised to those who love Him.”

More significant than all the tests of the loins in lust and the heart in emotionalism, the tests of the da’at-mind in intellectualism and study are the primary tests one must overcome in this life to serve YHVH in Spirit and Truth.
