๐๏ธ Oral Tradition: โFaith is Compared to Malkhutโ
โThe amount of Malkhut you have is the same angelic measurement of your faith.โ
Any other standard for measuring faith is the false faith of Edom โ an unrectified imitation that lacks divine order and structure.
๐ท Zohar 1:53a โ Faith as Malkhut
“This is the secret of faith (emunah), the tenth utterance, which is Malkhut, the end of all the degrees.”
(ืืืืจ ืืจืืฉืืช ื ืดื ื)
“ืืื ืืืื ื… ืืื ืืืื ื ืืื ืืืืืช”
โ
The Zohar clearly equates Emunah with Malkhut โ the tenth and final Sefirah โ the vessel that receives and reflects all divine influx. It is feminine, receptive, and represents the Kingdom.
Faith, then, is not initiative; it is reception. Not self-light, but reflected light. It is the lowest point of the structure โ and yet the key to accessing all higher ones.
๐ The First Malkhut (of Assiyah):
This lowest level of Malkhut is the beginning of emunah. It is the first gate one must pass through on the soulโs journey through the supernal structure.
โThe tenth gate is the Gate of Malkhut… This is the gate of Emunah, for without it none of the gates can be opened.โ
โ Rabbi Joseph Gikatilla, 13th Century
โ
Emunah is the key to all other Sefirot. If the vessel of Malkhut is uncircumcised โ unyielded, out of alignment โ the rest of the journey becomes a wandering through illusion: husks in the guise of holy light.
True ascent begins with obedience at the gate of Malkhut โ where faith is measured.
๐ Rabbi Nachman of Breslov โ Lesson 155:
โKnow that faith is in the mouth, and this is the aspect of Malkhut, which is called โmouth.โโ
(ืืข ืื ืืืืื ื ืืื ืืคื, ืืืื ืืืื ืช ืืืืืช, ืฉื ืงืจืืช ืคื)
โ The words of our mouth must align with the order and structure of Malkhut. Speech (Malkhut) is a tool of faith. Unordered words = unordered faith = misaligned Malkhut.
๐งญ Spiritual Measurement
โThe amount of Malkhut you have is the same angelic measurement of your faith.โ
This concept is echoed in both the Zohar and the writings of the Arizal:
โMalkhut is the measure of the stature of the soul.โ
(Zohar II:169b)
The soulโs stature โ its capacity to receive and rule โ is measured in Malkhut. The Sefirah of โKingdomโ is the measuring rod by which divine light is distributed and retained.
๐ด Contrast: The False Faith of Edom
โAny other standard of measuring faith is the false faith of Edom.โ
This rebuke is rooted in Jewish mystical resistance to the archetype of Edom โ especially the Roman/Christian distortion of faith. In this worldview, โfaithโ becomes disconnected from divine structure, Torah, and the supernal order of Malkhut. It becomes self-authoritative, separated from obedience and hierarchy.
๐ Zohar I:25b โ The Kings of Edom
โThese are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned in Israel…โ
This refers to unrectified vessels โ lights without vessels โ realms of chaos.
โ
Edom represents the premature, unstructured manifestation of power. A realm where faith is claimed without vessel, without receptivity, without alignment to the structure of heaven.
It is the klipah of spiritual independence โ a rebellion in the guise of belief.
๐ Sefer Torah Shebaโal Peh (Section 1):
โWhy is it called faith? Because it stands at the end of the body and receives from all.โ
(ืืื ื ืงืจืืช ืืืื ื? ืืคื ืฉืืื ืขืืืืช ืืกืืฃ ืืืืฃ ืืืงืืืช ืืืืื)
โ
Real faith is measured by how well you receive from above โ not by how passionately you initiate from below. Malkhut is the end โ but also the gate to the beginning.
Edomโs counterfeit faith builds a false pillar: a tower of Babel that pretends to ascend and walk in faith, but refuses to receive instruction or teaching from anyone higher than itself.

|
Faith = Malkhut |
Zohar 1:53a, 13th-century mystical writings |
Faith is feminine receptivity โ a vessel that reflects all divine light. |
|
Faith is Measured in Malkhut |
16th-century mystical sage, Zohar II:169b |
Malkhut is the divine measuring rod; the stature of the soul is seen here. |
|
False Faith of Edom |
Zohar 1:25b, Sefer Shebaโal Peh, 2nd-century mystical rabbi, compiled in 13th-century |
Faith divorced from structure is self-authority โ the rebellion of Edom. |
๐ Final Reflection:
True emunah begins where the soul bows to the order of the Kingdom โ the Malkhut โ and receives.
False faith begins where structure is abandoned and ego claims rulership without vessel.
Only through obedience to the order of Melchizedek โ the heavenly priesthood of divine righteousness โ can faith become measured, embodied, and crowned.
