Accessing Sheba’s Library While You Sleep

Do you want to remember your dreams?

I often get told by people that they love my dreams and wish they had more dreams or that they could remember their dreams. I have some easy and light simple keys to share with you on how you can begin remembering your dreams too and possibly even begin talking to God in your dreams if he allows.

I have always been a dreamer, but when I got into religion, it was like those dreams had been taken from me and they stopped. Like any gift from God, the enemy is always looking for ways to steal how we hear from God. I had received a word from God from Habbukuk that said, “write the vision down”. So I began to keep a pen and paper or a journal nearby or my phone notepad open in the background and ready to write in the morning when I woke up.

Your consciousness is being hijacked in subtle ways. Every morning you have notifications that go unnoticed. The Lord showed me that by allowing my first thought every day when I woke up to be Facebook and text message notifications, I was allowing the enemy to actually hijack my consciousness and steal my morning notifications from God. Every morning the first thing when you wake up, begin to start training your mind (controversial, I know ). This is what God showed me and worked for me- the very first moment you wake up, BE STILL.

Whatever it takes, write yourself a note if you have to and put a sticky note on your nightstand. Don’t check your phone right away, those things can wait.

Even better if you don’t sit up or get up right away. I’ve noticed that if you stay laying down for a moment and don’t stir your physical body too much initially, you retain more of the memories easily as you are still shifting from those realms of dreams and visions while you are in a more meditative state. Once you start remembering or even just receiving a feeling from God, write it down and be faithful with that small memory, impression, or feeling.

There is a word in the Bible about wisdom giving a word every day for those who will hear it. True, you might hear it later on, but it’s a precious time first thing in the morning when you wake up to hear something internally right away to give you peace and clarity instead of just checking the Facebook and text notifications. If you are faithful with little, he gives you more. If you lay on your bed and meditate on him at night and in the morning when you first wake up, you’re aligning yourself with some of the habits king David had that helped him make decisions as king, and also some of the ways that Joseph learned to start remembering and interpreting dreams. It’s all by the Spirit of God, and if we humble ourselves before him he gives us more grace. Part of that humbling is acknowledging that “I am not an interpreter of dreams, all interpretation is from the Lord and if he tells me what it means and I am given the grace to hear him speak, then I will simply repeat what he said or showed me. I don’t trouble myself with things above and beyond me, things too great for me, but I humbly come before you Spirit of Jesus Christ within me, and ask for dreams from you and to hear from you every day when I wake up. Amen”

Another key you can utilize in a practical and simple way, is to set your alarm for about 5 to 10 minutes before you need to actually get up and have a backup alarm to let you know when you have to start actually getting ready. You can also pray and ask God to wake you up naturally a little while before the alarm goes off, and use that quiet time to only rest and look inward to him and spend time enjoying him or listening quietly if he has something he wants you to hear–“here I am Lord, your servant is listening.”

People and things will always be a distraction, but with these simple and practical ways, you can get back your morning notifications from God and enjoy hearing from the Spirit of wisdom when you first wake up and end the social media programming of being slave to external Facebook and phone notifications being your start for the day. Be blessed and may today’s devotion of your heart be for your Beloved Jesus who lives within you. Amen. Love you and be blessed.

Postscript

You can keep reading if you want the little extra on how you can potentially talk to God in your dreams… This is for some hungry soul.

Praying in tongues often throughout the day helps to open up a pathway in your mind to remember God while you sleep. During the day, as often as you can, begin to think on and remember God inside you and look to Jesus within. As you work or do other things, every few minutes or as often as you can remember, remember him and by faith have a drink of his blood in the new covenant. If you can’t pray in tongues out loud at work, do it quietly under your breath as if you are talking to yourself or reminding yourself of something. If you are on lunch break alone, you can open up Google Translate and pray in tongues into your phone while pretending to be leaving voice messages or talking to a friend in foreign languages. You can also spend your lunchtime waiting on food and beholding Jesus quietly while you wait in line or do a quick meditation before or after you eat. If you are in school in between classes on campus, you can securely hold your book bag or purse while in a secure location or public location like the library and just go inward to Jesus for a while and meditate on him. Always use wisdom when you choose a location in public if you are on campus etc. You can also take a little piece of paper with a scripture on it and keep it in your pocket or purse. When I served tables, I would always keep a verse in my serving book so I would be reminded every time I opened it.

Doing these little things throughout the day helps you stay “spiritually awake” as you remember Jesus. When you make it a habit, he actually helps you stop sinning throughout the day. When you are beholding him and remembering him during the day, you don’t sin because you are conscious of of his blood and His presence and would be really embarrassed to do anything in front of him. It’s when you “fall asleep” during the day by forgetting him momentarily that you are only conscious of self and selfish sinful desires that lead to death. Begin to consider yourself dead to sin moment by moment. So every moment you begin to behold him, quite easily with just a little practice by being a simple, humble soul during school and work. This works quite easily even if you have to work 14 hours in a day with just a one-hour lunch break and chores when you go home, I’ve tested it in those circumstances and it really works and helps you to Abide in Him.

Why am I telling you about all this daytime stuff? Thought this was about dreams? Doing these things during the daytime trains your spirit to stay awake and aware of Christ even while busy. The more you stay “awake” even while using your brain for serving tables, studying, working, holding interviews etc. You learn how to stay “awake” and not “asleep” which is a type of death. “he’s not dead he’s only asleep…”

If you do this during the day, you actually train yourself to be awake to Christ and that begins to pass over into bedtime by faith. Before you fall asleep when you go to bed, turn off the media and phones, and meditate on Christ inside you. Pray in tongues quietly or even internally without saying it out loud, and you can begin praying in tongues in your dreams. When I started doing this, if anything negative came into a dream I was able to easily pray in tongues or extend my hand in the dream and rebuke an evil spirit and yell, “in Jesus’ name!” during the dream, because I learned how to stay conscious of Jesus, the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ at all times or most times of the day. Over time my dreams changed and became more glorious as I grew my spirit.

Easy, practical, simple. It pleases the Father and will transform your night and your day. Anytime I start to stray from these practices he has a way of reminding me to return to him. Easily, simply, humbly. I think you will be amazed and surprised by the results and fruit of your dream and thought life yielded to him in these practical ways. Bless you and have the best day of your life so far in Jesus’ name. Amen.
